After Becky Lynch stepped away and apparently retired from in-ring competition recently, a star should have replaced her, believes a veteran. He’s spoken in detail about it.

On this week’s edition of the Legion of RAW, industry veteran Vince Russo talked about Lyra Valkyria and how WWE has been dropping the ball with her after Lynch endorsed her. The Man has since stepped away, and Liv Morgan and others have said that the star has retired, making it official recently through their comments.

Vince Russo spoke about how Lynch had endorsed Valkyria, which gave her the perfect chance to be her replacement. By claiming to be her replacement, Russo believes it would have turned Valkyria heel and helped build a feud should Lynch return.

He said that they had dropped the ball, and now Valkyria was just another name on the roster.

“All she had to do was slowly and surely keep talking about replacing Becky Lynch and becoming better and turning her heel that way – that’s all they had to do. You know, at some point, Becky is coming back. But you know, if she called herself the new and improved Becky Lynch, bro went so far as dyeing her hair red. There’s so much they could have done with her, but just another name on the roster,” Russo noted. (6:26 – 6:55)

It remains to be seen if Lynch returns to the ring again.

Seth Rollins had a huge match on WWE RAW where he got a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship, but he made a big mistake, according to a veteran. He believes that a WWE Hall of Famer should be brought back to correct these issues.

On RAW, after a brutal match at Crown Jewel, where Rollins was hurt, the star wrestled against three other stars for a shot at the World Heavyweight Title. While the commentators were selling his injuries, according to industry veteran Vince Russo, Seth Rollins was wrestling like he was at 100% and not selling that he was hurt. The veteran called it out and said that this was a huge mistake.

On Legion of RAW, Vince Russo elaborated when asked who could help correct Seth Rollins and other stars. He said that they needed an agent backstage.

The former writer then named Kurt Angle, whom the company should hire. He talked about how the WWE Hall of Famer always knew what to do and put on the best matches.

“I’ll tell you one guy that isn’t employed by anybody, and I don’t really understand it unless he doesn’t want to be employed by anybody. Kurt Angle. How is Kurt Angle not working backstage for one of these companies? Are you kidding me? Are you kidding me? The greatest matches I saw were Kurt Angle matches… How is he not… unless he doesn’t want to get back in? Outside of that, come on, man, that’s the best you can get,” Russo said. (30:10 – 30:47)

At this point, Kurt Angle has spoken about retiring from the ring, but it remains to be seen if he will return in a non-wrestling role.

Liv Morgan had her work cut out for her at WWE Crown Jewel, but Dominik Mysterio and another star sent her a message before she made her way out to the ring. Facing Nia Jax, Liv had a lot to do on the night.

At Crown Jewel, with the help of Raquel Rodriguez and Dominik Mysterio, Liv Morgan retained her title and even defeated Nia Jax. Not only did she beat the Women’s Champion, but she was also able to fend off Tiffany Stratton, who seemed intent on cashing in the briefcase at the event.

As seen in the backstage Crown Jewel video published by WWE, Morgan was nervous before she headed out to the ring. However, she received support and messages from her friends and fellow stars before she went out to the ring, which calmed her down.

Raquel Rodriguez was one of the stars sending her a message, assuring her that she had it under control.

“You got this sister, you got this, you got this.” [6:19 – 6:23]

Dominik Mysterio also showed his support, saying that her match against Jax was light work and she had complete control of the situation.

“She got this, easy work, light work,” he said. [6:27 – 6:29]

With IYO SKY winning the Battle Royal to challenge Liv Morgan for the title, even with Rhea Ripley out of action, Morgan is facing a lot of trouble.

The star has to face Damage CTRL as they are likely to be helping Sky as she gets her title shot.

With that being the case, though, her support in the form of Rodriguez and Mysterio and the rest of Judgment Day has been massive for her.

Grayson Waller has taken to social media to take a dig at The Motor City Machine Guns ahead of their scheduled meeting on SmackDown. The WWE Tag Team Champions will be guests on his talk show.

Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin captured the coveted titles two weeks ago on the blue brand by dethroning Tonga Loa and Tama Tonga of The Bloodline in the main event. They had some help, though, as Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, and Roman Reigns were involved in a brawl with the villainous group during the match.

On SmackDown this Friday night, The Motor City Machine Guns will be involved in an in-ring segment with A-Town Down Under on The Grayson Waller Effect. The Aussie star sent a message on X to promote it, and he took a little dig at MCMG in the tweet.

“What an incredible journey! After 20+ years, the Motor City Machine Guns have finally reached the pinnacle of professional wrestling. All the long car rides, hotdog and handshakes and missed birthdays have all been worth it….. Because tomorrow night they get to be guests on Grayson Waller Effect #SmackDown,” wrote Waller.

Grayson Waller says he has unfinished business with John Cena

The 16-time world champion will hang up his wrestling boots in 2025, and many wrestlers have expressed interest in sharing the ring with him. John Cena was confronted by Grayson Waller last year at Money in the Bank, and it got physical.

The A-Town Down Under member told Wide World of Sports that he wants a piece of The Cenation Leader:

“I’ve had the opportunity to be in there with him on the microphone, but I’ve never had the opportunity to be tested by him in the ring. And I think that’s what Cena does: test people. He’s a measuring stick. You go against John Cena; you show that you belong. So many guys have gone in there and afterwards gone on to big things because they passed the test. And I want the hottest test, and I think that is it,” he said.

It’ll be interesting to see whether Waller will share the ring with John Cena during his retirement tour in 2025.

WWE Superstar Dominik Mysterio might have to cross paths with a German wrestler from the red brand. That name is Ludwig Kaiser, an ally of WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther.

Dominik’s confrontation with Kaiser could come through WWE female superstar Tiffany Stratton, as Kaiser is her real-life boyfriend. This might also cause Dom to turn babyface for the first time since 2022. In last week’s episode of SmackDown, Tiffany tried to throw bait at Dominik when she was having a verbal spat with Liv Morgan. Stratton had teased cashing in her briefcase against Morgan’s WWE Women’s World Championship at Crown Jewel PLE. She went a step ahead and asked Morgan if she would win the WWE title from her, would Dominik come along with her? Stratton mocked Morgan, saying that she could use a little dirt in her life if Dominik came along with her.

Morgan retaliated by saying that Stratton already had “enough dirty” in her life. This was probably a dig at Ludwig Kaiser, Stratton’s boyfriend.

The same night on SmackDown, Stratton lost the singles contest to Morgan after her Nia Jax caused outside interference. Then, when Stratton tried to cash in her briefcase at Crown Jewel, Dominik Mysterio and Raquel Rodriguez disrupted her attempt.

Now, what might happen is that Tiffany Stratton might ask Kaiser to hunt down Dominik to exact her revenge on the Judgment Day members, especially Dom and Raquel Rodriguez.

The story direction makes sense because Kaiser isn’t involved in any storyline. He lost to Sheamus last week on RAW, probably ending their feud. Similarly, Dominik has also lost his chance against Gunther’s World Heavyweight Championship after losing the Fatal-Four Way No. 1 contenders match this week on RAW.

It makes sense for a Dominik-Kaiser feud, which might turn into a Mixed Tag Team Title match with Stratton on Kaiser’s side and Morgan on Dom’s side.

Tiffany Stratton on Ludwig Kaiser’s singles run in WWE

The former NXT Women’s Champion recently praisedher beau for running well as a singles superstar on RAW. Kaiser made his main roster debut in 2022, along with Gunther, and initially competed as a tag-team player with Gunther.

However, Kaiser has been competing in singles matches since April 2024 and has done well. Tiffany Stratton, in a conversation with Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Emily Mae recently, said that she was pleased to see Kaiser branch off so well from a tag-team player to a singles superstar.

“I am so happy for him, honestly. It’s been a long time coming. I feel like he’s always kind of been in a tag team and I’m so grateful that he’s branching off and really coming into his own,” she said.

It remains to be seen how Ludwig Kaiser helps out his girlfriend, Tiffany Stratton, against the Judgment Day members, especially Dominik Mysterio.

Seth Rollins has sent an emotional message about what the world title means to him. He claimed that he passed it on to Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre.

Rollins won the title in the Night of Champions tournament finale, where he faced AJ Styles to become the inaugural World Heavyweight Champion in WWE after the new title was introduced by Triple H.

He talked about winning the title at the tournament to become the first-ever World Heavyweight Champion with the new belt in WWE. He said that it was big for him to return to Saudi Arabia, where it had happened, and it was remarkable to see it grow after he passed it along to Drew McIntyre, Damian Priest, and Gunther.

“That tournament really meant something, and that title really meant something. And I know anytime you come back to a place where you won a title, you’ve had a major moment like that kinda resonates with you. To see what the title has become over the past year and some odd months since I’ve won it. Now I’ve passed it along to Drew and Priest, and now Gunther – it’s very special to see how it’s continued to rise and rise and rise.” [2:21 – 2:55]

He went on to say that knowing that he was the inaugural champion really made it special to him to see the championship’s status continue to rise. He said that it had been very important for it to become the world title that it was.

While it seems inevitable that Seth Rollins will feud with CM Punk in WWE, the star is currently busy with another major star. Facing Bronson Reed, the star has his work cut out for him in a big way.

Reed has injured Seth Rollins several times and even wiped him out on RAW, taking his chance to be the World Heavyweight Champion again.

It remains to be seen how their feud is resolved.

Mick Foley is a top name in WWE and a legend of the business. After asking for help earlier, the retired wrestler had a big message and an update.

Foley had earlier urgently asked fans for help raising money for Kenya. He later updated that they had met the target and that any money they raised would go toward building cafeterias, libraries, and other essentials in Kenya.

“Hey everyone, it’s Mick Foley letting you know there’s only four days of contributing to my fundraiser for Kenya, where 100% of my Cameo proceeds go directly to funding an early childhood education center in a playing field in Kenya.”

Now, in a new message, the Hall of Famer has talked about what happened with the fundraiser and shared some good news with the fans who had helped him out.

Mick Foley thanked everyone who had helped him raise the money by ordering cameo videos from him. He announced that together, they had raised $39,000 for Childfund, which was $9,000 more than his goal.

“THANK YOU! Thanks to everyone who ordered a @cameo video from me the last three months. Together, we raised $39,000 for @childfund – $9,000 more than my goal.”

Mick Foley is still connected with WWE

While Foley has stepped away from the ring,as per a report earlier in the year, the Hall of Famer is still connected to WWE. At some point, he signed a legends’ deal with them.

Even though he’s retired, he’s still connected with the company. Whether he chooses to return for one last match remains to be seen. Even should he choose, he might return as a manager for a WWE star instead of for one more match.

The star’s future remains to be seen, but with the deal, he can make special appearances for WWE should the company need them.

Former WWE CEO Vince McMahon, among others, has recently been accused in another lawsuit. However, a veteran believes the plaintiff’s purpose isn’t to win the case.

McMahon has been the target of several allegations over the past few years. The latest lawsuit pertains to the infamous ring boy scandal of 1992. Vince McMahon, Linda McMahon, and the TKO group have been accused, according to the lawsuit, which states that the defendants knew about the ongoing scandal and willfully chose to do nothing.

Speaking about the matter on Sportskeeda’s SmackTalk, Dutch Mantell expressed his belief that the accusers were trying to look for a settlement out of court. He stated:

“I think what they are looking for is a settlement out of court. See what they can get there. But that is so old. And I don’t know where it’s going… I am gonna have to sit back and withhold judgment on that because I don’t know the details on it. It’s just an old, old happening,” he noted. [2:03 onwards]

According to Vince Russo, the latest allegations would be difficult to prove in court.

Speaking on The Wrestling Outlaws, the former WWE Head writer explained that the original perpetrators in the 1992 scandal had already passed away. As such, he could not see how the case would be handled in court.

“The defendents that were allegedly active in this, in the acts, they are all dead. They are not with us anymore. Pat Patterson’s not with us anymore, (Terry) Garvin, Mel Phillips, they’ve all since passed away. So part of the lawsuit is Vince McMahon and Linda McMahon knew about it. I don’t know how you prove that. I don’t know, I don’t know how you prove that they were privy to what was going on, you know?” Russo noted.

It remains to be seen how the former WWE CEO will handle these issues in the coming weeks.

Chelsea Green made some comments about her future in WWE. She hinted at a future title shot.

Ever since Green returned to WWE in January 2023, she has become one of the top women in the division. She even won the Women’s Tag Team Championship with Sonya Deville before switching partners to team up with Piper Niven due to Deville’s injury.
