  • Triple H to send 44-year-old former WWE World Heavyweight Champion packing from SmackDown? Exploring potential repercussions

WWE CCO Triple H might take harsh disciplinary action against a former WWE World Heavyweight Champion tonight on SmackDown. The star in question is Randy Orton.

The 44-year-old superstar caused a major issue on November 2 at the Crown Jewel Premium Live Event, when he delivered an RKO to WWE RAW General Manager, Adam Pearce. Orton also attacked another WWE executive who came out to prevent him from using chair shots against Kevin Owens.

Now The Viper is awaiting action against him on SmackDown tonight. However, the SmackDown GM,Nick Aldis might be unable to take proper disciplinary action against the veteran.

It is mainly because last year, Orton caused a similar disciplinary issue when he gave an RKO to Nick Aldis on the December 1, 2023 edition of SmackDown. The Viper was then charged a hefty fine of USD 50,000. He, however, paid double the amount of what he was supposed to.

When Aldis asked Orton why he paid double the fine, Orton said that the rest in advance was for “next time”.

So, Nick Aldis shall not be able to charge Orton now, and it may need to be Triple H who might have to step up against Randy Orton.

Triple H can either remove Orton from the blue brand, as part of the disciplinary action against him or he might put Orton into a match against KO at Survivor Series: War Games.

This match could have an extreme stipulation such as Last Man Standing or Falls Count Anywhere. The probability of Hunter putting the two into a no-disqualification match looks high as turning him away from SmackDown shall not serve any purpose.

Randy Orton had accused Triple H of protecting Kevin Owens on WWE SmackDown

The Viper and Triple H might have a hot segment on SmackDown tonight, as the former WWE Champion confronted Hunter a few days back. After being attacked by Owens, Orton demanded a match against him from Nick Aldis. The SmackDown GM had told him that it wasn’t under his authority to grant him that match.

Then in the opening segment of SmackDown on October 25, the veteran charged to the ring and called out Triple H from WWE backstage to face him and give him what he wants. The Game, who was monitoring the show backstage, came out and tried to pacify Orton that a match against Owens wasn’t a decent idea.

However, Orton accused Triple H of protecting Kevin Owens. Hunter shot back saying that he wasn’t protecting Owens, but instead Orton. The Viper, however, stuck to his guns, and at last, an angered Triple H gave the 14-time world champion his match against Kevin Owens at Crown Jewel.

  • Nick Aldis to ban 40-year-old star from WWE SmackDown tonight for one major reason? It’s not a punishment!

The upcoming edition of SmackDown is expected to be a blockbuster thriller, as WWE advertised several exciting things for the show. With the blue brand wrapped in chaos lately, Nick Aldis has a huge task in hand to deliver a great show. Regarding this, the General Manager might ban a 40-year-old star from SmackDown tonight for a major reason.

The star in question is Kevin Owens. The Prizefighter has been on a rampage lately. He wreaked havoc on Randy Orton at Crown Jewel, unleashing a merciless attack on the latter. However, that might not be the reason behind his potential suspension from the show. Nick Aldis could ban KO from tonight’s SmackDown for one reason: the return of Sami Zayn on the show.

Following the recent events within The Bloodline saga, Zayn will seemingly be on the blue brand tonight. He is expected to reunite with Roman Reigns and The Usos for the resurgence of the OG Bloodline. However, this may not sit well with his long-time friend Kevin Owens. Seeing another of his close friends join forces with his bitter rival could make his blood boil.

Unable to process this, The Prizefighter could unleash his wrath on Sami Zayn in the same way that he did to Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton. Therefore, to keep the two apart, Nick Aldis could restrict Owens from showing up on SmackDown tonight. The General Manager might be well aware of what could happen if the two superstars were under the same roof.

As a result, Aldis could use his authoritarian power to impose a ban on the former Universal Champion for the upcoming edition of the blue brand. While this is an intriguing prospect, it remains mere speculation at the moment.

Nick Aldis to make a huge announcement on SmackDown regarding Kevin Owens?

Kevin Owens was supposed to compete in a one-on-one match with Randy Orton at Crown Jewel 2024. Just before the match could begin, the two superstars got involved in a wild brawl, with KO destroying The Viper. Nick Aldis could reveal the aftermath of this heinous attack on the show tonight.

In a huge announcement, Aldis could disclose that Orton suffered a potential injury at Crown Jewel due to Owens’ attack. He could also state that The Apex Predator would be out of action for an unforeseeable future. This will add a new layer to their rivalry, portraying The Prizefighter as a legitimate threat.

Moreover, this would open the door for Kevin Owens to go after Cody Rhodes, who had been his primary target all this time. Both superstars could resume their rivalry on SmackDown amid Randy Orton’s potential absence. It could ultimately lead to a highly anticipated match between Rhodes and Owens at the Survivor Series 2024 Premium Live Event.

There are several rumors of this match taking place at the upcoming spectacle in Vancouver, Canada. It remains to be seen what Triple H has in store for KO on SmackDown.

  • Tama Tonga shares a subtle message ahead of the OG Bloodline’s meeting on WWE SmackDown

Tama Tonga shared a subtle message ahead of the OG Bloodline’s meeting on WWE SmackDown. Tonga and the new Bloodline defeated Roman Reigns and The Usos at Crown Jewel.

Following The Bloodline’s win, the faction ambushed Reigns and Jey Uso before Sami Zayn came to the aid of his former Bloodline stablemates. Zayn, who was previously seen talking to Solo Sikoa, apparently denied his offer to join the group. Meanwhile, the former Honorary Uce accidentally nailed the OTC with a Helluva Kick.

Tama Tonga shared a photo collage of Sikoa and The Bloodline on his Instagram story. The faction could make another huge statement on the upcoming edition of SmackDown, considering that Reigns, The Usos, and Zayn are confirmed to appear on the show.

Check out a screengrab of Tonga’s Instagram story:

Tama Tonga sent a three-word message after The Bloodline’s win over Roman Reigns and The Usos

Leading up to the Crown Jewel Premium Live Event, Roman Reigns and Jey Uso put their issues aside to reunite the OG Bloodline. However, the OG Bloodline failed to get the win upon their reunion. Sikoa, who was pinned by Reigns at Bad Blood, avenged the loss by pinning the OTC.

On X (fka Twitter), Tama Tonga sent a three-word message, reacting to an OG Bloodline edit. In a now-deleted tweet, he wrote:

    “Water brings life,”

Tonga debuted on the SmackDown after WrestleMania XL. On his first night, he attacked Jimmy Uso and helped Sikoa kick his brother out of The Bloodline. Shortly afterward, Tama’s brother and long-term tag team partner, Tonga Loa, debuted in WWE.

Before SummerSlam, Tama won the WWE Tag Team Championship with Jacob Fatu. However, Fatu was forced to hand his title over to Loa. Moving forward, Tama and Loa successfully defended the titles on a few occasions, including a Triple Threat Ladder Match on SmackDown against The Street Profits and DIY. Unfortunately, they lost the titles to The Motor City Machine Guns on an episode of SmackDown.

  • “It’s still not great” – Former WWE champion provides massive injury update

A current member of the WWE SmackDown brand has provided an update on her injury and recovery. Even though Piper Niven is still active in the ring, she’s currently dealing with an injury.

The former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion revealed several months ago that she broke her hand in February while training. She competed in the Fatal Four-Way Tag Team match for the women’s tag title at Crown Jewel, but the bout saw Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill retain their championship.

Speaking to Gorrila Position in a recent interview, Piper Niven provided an update on her hand injury. She said it hasn’t fully healed yet, but it still works.

“I mean, it’s still not great,”said Niven. “Still not great. It works but, America! [Laughs].” (13:06-13:13)

You can check out the video below:

Vince Russo thinks WWE should push Piper Niven

Piper Niven is part of a villainous tag team with Chelsea Green on the SmackDown brand. They held the Women’s Tag Team Title together for a couple of months.

Speaking onBroDown, wrestling veteran Vince Russo questioned the way WWE has been booking Piper Niven. He stated that she has a personality and deserves to be pushed. Russo also said he wished he was writing for her.

“I don’t know what Piper Niven jobs to everybody. I have no idea. I wish I was writing for Piper Niven. With what they’ve given her, you can see personality there. This girl has personality; you gotta feed her. You gotta give her material. This is the biggest issue I have with that,” said Russo.

Lash Legend made her singles debut on SmackDown a few weeks ago, and her opponent was Piper Niven. The match was won by the Meta-Four member. Vince Russo thinks that Piper should be pushed instead of being used to put other stars over.

  • Triple H’s 5 most trusted WWE Superstars

Since Triple H took over as the Chief Content Officer of WWE, the company has seen significant changes in storylines and has been profitable. The Game has taken the company to heights in the last few months, and that too without Vince McMahon.

The grand success of WrestleMania 40 is a testament to how well Triple H understands the business. He elevated Cody Rhodes as the new babyface of the company in a dramatic fashion at ‘Mania and, at the same time, turned around the character of Roman Reigns.

Triple H did what Vince McMahon couldn’t do for years, and that was getting Roman Reigns accepted as babyface. Reigns’ babyface turn at SummerSlam 2024 is still the most-watched video on the company’s website.

Moreover, The Game has indeed set eyes on a few superstars from the roster, who are his trusted men and the ones who will deliver for him when needed. This article will discuss the five most trusted WWE Superstars of Triple H.

#1. Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes

There’s no doubt that Cody Rhodes is one of Triple H’s most trusted guys. The CCO trusted him and handed him the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 40.

After the match, he came out to the ring and lifted Cody’s hand to tell the world he had established a new face of the Stamford-based promotion. After the match, Triple H gifted Cody Rhodes a watch that Cody’s father, Dusty Rhodes, pawned years ago to send him to an acting school.

Since then, The Game never took off the title from Cody and instead made him win consecutive premium live events after WrestleMania 40. It looks like Cody would keep the title for some more time unless a need arises for a title change.

#2. Former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre

The Scottish Warrior is yet another talent with whom Triple H shares a relationship based on trust. Triple H’s immense faith in Drew McIntyre can be gauged from the fact that McIntyre has remained at the top of the company throughout the year.

After having been a contender for the World Heavyweight Championship, McIntyre worked with CM Punk in a gripping rivalry. Their storyline was also considered one of the hottest in the company.

Besides this, McIntyre remains indebted to Triple H for believing in him and giving him the needed space. Earlier this year, the former WWE Champion disclosed how the company gave him a break, which he desperately needed due to a family emergency.

“There was a period where I was like maybe I’m gonna have to take a little break and come back and some uncertainty. Thankfully as a family, we came together and WWE gave me the time I needed whenever I needed it during that period, and in the end, as a family, we came together. We had a conversation about what was best for us. The company was unbelievable with that and thankfully everybody is in a great place right now,” he said.

McIntyre has also backed Triple H’s creative control in the past, stating that the wrestlers are now allowed to give their input on the storylines and how they want to execute them.

    #3. Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns and Triple H share a unique relationship even before The Big Dog made his main roster debut. Two years ago, Reigns spoke about his relationshipwith The Game, saying that Triple H was a crucial guy who guided him along. While speaking on The Tonight Show, he said:

“You know, H was very critical in his process to guide me along. He was kind of before I met Vince and built a relationship with him, it was Triple H. He was the one that was down there in developmental.”

There’s also no doubt that Triple Hhas faith in Roman Reigns. Despite the OTC being booed by the fans when he was a babyface, both Vince McMahon and Triple H continued to trust him. And when he turned heel in 2020, aligning with Paul Heyman, his stocks went up in WWE.

Reigns held the Undisputed WWE Universal Heavyweight Championship for nearly four years, amounting to nearly 1,316 days.

    #4. Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens became the second-ever WWE Universal Champion on August 29, 2016. That was within a year of his main roster debut. It was on Monday Night RAW in the main event when Triple H turned against his protege Seth Rollins to give title to KO.

Later, in an interview, The Prizefighter revealed that it was because of Triple H that everything happened. He mentioned that Hunter was the reason why he was there in the company.

“The moment with Triple H and the ‘turn’ with him pedigreeing Seth, all the way to him handing me the title was so surreal. He’s the reason I’m here. He sought me out on the Independent scene. He signed me to a contract with NXT. He’s been in my corner for so long, from the start, when a lot of people weren’t,” Kevin Owens said on WWE Break It Down. [H/T: Fightful Select]

Kevin Owens, to this date, is handsomely booked, and under Triple H’s regime, he has never been sidelined.

    #5. WWE Superstar Randy Orton

The Viper is another trusted superstar of Triple H. Orton considers Hunter as his mentor. In April 2022, when Orton completed 20 years in the promotion, Triple H shared a post on X, where he praised The Viper.

Triple H said that only a few make it to the top in WWE, and nobody else could have done it for more than 20 years apart from Randy Orton. To this, Orton thanked Triple H for not giving up on him. The Viper mentioned that he couldn’t have asked for a better mentor than Triple H.

  • Former WWE champion says he has unfinished business with The Rock; it’s not Cody Rhodes or Roman Reigns

The Rock made his grand return at WWE Bad Blood 2024, making headlines all around the globe. However, the veteran has been absent from TV since then and is expected to return very soon with the Road to WrestleMania on the horizon. While he has scores to settle with Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns, a former WWE champion has stated that he has unfinished business with the Final Boss.

In 2023, The Rock made a surprise return to WWE, confronting Austin Theory and insulting the young star in one of the best promos of the year. The Final Bossand Pat McAfee then took the former United States Champion down with a People’s Elbow, making it a memorable night for the WWE Universe.

In a recent edition of Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Austin Theory addressed meeting Dwayne Johnson on the sets of Fast and Furious. He noted they had unfinished business, teasing a potential match between them.

“The real movie is Theory vs Dwayne—that’s the real one, okay? And we still got some unfinished business,” said Austin Theory. (26:53 onwards)

Will we see Austin Theory vs The Rock?

While the People’s Champion could return to the squared circle soon, a match with Austin Theory seems very unlikely.

The veteran has an ongoing feud with Cody Rhodes and seemingly Roman Reigns and The Bloodline.

With several matches already lined up for him at WrestleMania, it doesn’t seem fans would get to see Theory against the Final Boss. Time will tell if WWE has plans for both men to come face-to-face again.

  • 4 Potential Women’s WarGames matchups for WWE Survivor Series 2024 following Rhea Ripley’s injury layoff

Just days before WWE Crown Jewel 2024, it was reported that Rhea Ripley had suffered an injury that would rule her out for an undisclosed amount of time. Mami suffered what was officially revealed to be a fractured right orbital socket, consequently getting written off television due to an attack from Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez in the infamous NXT parking lot.

Ripley’s injury put a big dent in Triple H and Co.’s plans for the women’s division, given that Mami is in the middle of arguably the biggest women’s feud of the year. With the Survivor Series: WarGames 2024 Premium Live Event right around the corner, it most likely put a damper on plans for the Women’s WarGames Match, which undoubtedly would have involved Rhea. One wonders how these plans will change now that Mami is out of action.

Without further ado, below are four potential Women’s WarGames matchups for the WWE Survivor Series: WarGames 2024 PLE following Rhea Ripley’s injury.

#4. Team Morgan vs. Team IYO SKY could be the new Women’s WarGames plan heading into WWE Survivor Series 2024

Less than a week after Rhea Ripley was written off WWE programming, a number-one contender’s Battle Royal was held on RAW to determine Liv Morgan’s next challenger. IYO SKY outlasted every other competitor to earn a shot at the Women’s World Championship, last eliminating Lyra Valkyria. It is unknown if The Genius of the Sky will face Morgan at Survivor Series: WarGames 2024 or somewhere else.

If the plan is not to have a singles match between the two women at the upcoming PLE, Liv and IYO could lead opposing teams in the 2024 Women’s WarGames Match. This could see other babyfaces and heels on RAW like Valkyria and Shayna Baszler get involved to complete the lineup. SKY and Morgan could then have their singles title match at Saturday Night’s Main Event in December.

#3. Rhea Ripley’s injury could allow WWE SmackDown to have a Women’s WarGames Match

While Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan have been the backbone of the women’s main event scene on RAW, SmackDown’s division has also been heating up. Led by reigning WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax, names such as Tiffany Stratton, Bayley, Naomi, Chelsea Green, and more have been building considerable intrigue on the blue brand. Apart from the aforementioned female stars, Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair have also undoubtedly dominated the women’s division.

Could we see the Women’s WarGames teams emerge from the Friday night show? Could it be Team Jax vs. Team Bayley/Team Naomi? With very few women’s factions active on the blue brand, could Michin and Chelsea pick sides to set up the bout? Only time will tell.

#2. Rhea Ripley leads a team against Liv Morgan from the sidelines

Rhea Ripley may be out of in-ring action for the foreseeable future, but she could still be a valuable asset to WWE in a non-wrestling capacity. The Eradicator is arguably the biggest star in the women’s division, with her time in The Judgment Day being a big factor in the group’s success.

Ripley could lend her star power to Survivor Series: WarGames 2024 by taking on a role on the sidelines, possibly recruiting a team to take on the side led by Liv Morgan, or even acting as a Special Guest Referee. This would help keep the intensity of their rivalry alive while Mami is out.

#1. Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill could lead a WarGames team against Liv Morgan at WWE Survivor Series 2024

In recent weeks, Liv Morgan has racked up an impressive list of rivals in WWE’s women’s division. On top of being at loggerheads with Rhea Ripley and contending for championship supremacy with Nia Jax at Crown Jewel 2024, the current Women’s World Champion also repeatedly picked fights with Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill.

With Ripley injured, Morgan’s attention seems to be devoted to generating friction between the reigning WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. This could lead to a Women’s WarGames Match with The EST and The Storm leading a babyface side against Team Liv.

  • “That’s the goal” – Carmelo Hayes reveals what he wants to achieve from his lengthy feud with Andrade

Carmelo Hayes has commented on what he wants to get out of his rivalry with Andrade. The two stars have been feuding for several months now.

They have faced each other seven times on SmackDown since the July 19 episode of the show. In their latest match, United States Champion LA Knight served as the Special Guest Referee, but the bout ended in a no-contest after The Megastar attacked both stars. This set up a Triple Threat match between them at Crown Jewel for the United States Championship, with Knight winning.

During a recent interview with Gorilla Position, Carmelo Hayes was asked whether his lengthy feud with Andrade will finally get settled. He said he hopes it does, as his end goal is to win the US Title.

“I mean, I hope so. The real winner is who wins that United States Championship. The game seven thing and things like that really wasn’t the ultimate goal. The ultimate goal is to have a championship, so that’s the goal. As far as a winner, game seven, game eight, it doesn’t matter. Get that U.S. Championship. That’s what matters,” said Hayes. (2:50-3:12)

Carmelo Hayes on Triple H and representation in WWE

WWE’s roster is filled with talented wrestlers from different backgrounds and cultures, which brings a diverse range of skills and styles to the ring. Triple H spoke about black representation in the company during the Bad Blood post-show press conference.

When Carmelo Hayes was asked if there were discussions about that backstage, he stated:

“I don’t know, I mean, I think when you’re talented, you’re talented, and you’re going to get an opportunity. I think all of us guys and girls are proving that we deserve all the opportunities, regardless of color, race, ethnicity, all of that. So, I mean, what Hunter was saying was essentially, cream rises to the top—when you’re talented, you’re talented, period,” said Hayes. (3:20-4:07)

Carmelo Hayes still wants to be the United States Champion, so it’ll be interesting to see what he does to get himself back into the title picture.

  • Triple H must make a major change to WWE after 9 years in 2025, says ex-employee (Exclusive)

WWE has featured a plethora of changes to the programming in the past few years. Since Triple H’s involvement as the Chief Content Officer, everything has been working well for the company. Their new Netflix deal is about to kick off in a couple of months and the excitement for that has been over the roof.

However, recent rumors of Netflix specifically wanting a few names on the red brand’s roster have concerned fans. Reportedly, Netflix has declared that they want Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, and CM Punk on the RAW roster. While there hasn’t been an official update yet, it seems like a few changes to the rosters of both brands might be seen very soon.

However, wrestling veteran Vince Russo feels the other way around. In a recent edition of The Coach and Bro Show on Backstage Pass, Russo addressed the same and stated that WWE should end the brand split for the first time since 2016 and combine the rosters, featuring the same stories on RAW and then continuing them on SmackDown.

“The reason why they went for the brand split was because the Attitude Era got so over, they wanted to run two shows…Now, I don’t understand it anymore because you’re gonna run into these problems. Have one roster. Now you’ll have access to all the stars and just have one continuous story from SmackDown to RAW,” said Vince Russo. [30:29 onwards]

While it is still unknown if WWEwould switch Reigns and Rhodes to RAW giving Netflix what they want, it could create some issues on the blue brand. Time will tell how Triple H will change things around heading into 2025.
