  • 4-time World Champion to dethrone Gunther and retire from WWE; predicts veteran

WWE Superstars are gearing up for the coming year, and Gunther could be on the cusp of losing his title to a major name. Recently, Disco Inferno discussed the possibility of Goldberg’s final run and stated he could dethrone The Ring General and retire from in-ring competition.

Last month, Gunther poked the bear, who was enjoying Bad Blood as a fan in the crowd along with his family. This led to a verbal confrontation between the two heavyweights. Later, the former four-time world champion announced he would retire from in-ring competition following a match in the WWE in 2025.

Speaking on Keepin’ It 100 OFFICIAL, Disco Inferno stated Goldberg has value and doesn’t think the retirement would go in vain. He predicted a scenario where Gunther could lose the World Heavyweight Championship to Da Man, and the veteran could finally retire after getting a win of such caliber.

“Obviously, the point of him [Goldberg] vs. Gunther, which I think could be good verbal build-up for the battle, and then a compelling match-up. Especially, if Gunther still has the belt. I wonder if they would let Goldberg go over in his retirement and let him win the belt like for them to have to come back and have one more. I don’t know. I think there’s value in Goldberg for sure. 100%,” Inferno said. [From 01:07 to 01:37]

Gunther suffered a loss at WWE Crown Jewel 2024

The confrontation with Goldberg seemingly hinted at a match with the veteran in the coming weeks. However, Triple H’s WWE regime had other plans, as both world champions from RAW and SmackDown would go head-to-head in Saudi Arabia for the Crown Jewel Championship.

In the following weeks, Gunther taunted Cody Rhodes, and the two brawled on occasions. Later, the former Legacy reunited to face the Imperium on Friday Night SmackDown in a Tag Team Match. Randy Orton and Rhodes prevailed over Gunther and Ludwig Kaiser before the victors got blindsided by Kevin Owens and the World Heavyweight Champion.

The two champions finally clashed at the premium live event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on November 2, where Cody Rhodes pinned Gunther after a 23-minute high-caliber bout to become the inaugural WWE Crown Jewel Champion.

It’ll be interesting to see how The Ring General bounces back with two significant singles losses in the same calendar year.

  • WWE signs another Bloodline member; potential Roman Reigns recruit revealed – Reports

Roman Reigns has been trying to regain his power over The Bloodline ever since he made his return to WWE back at SummerSlam. This is because following WrestleMania Solo Sikoa had broken up his family and made his own.

It seems that there could be another recruit for Roman Reigns heading in the direction of SmackDown in the coming months since it was recently reported by Fightful Select that Lance Anoa’i has officially signed with WWE.

It was noted that Anoa’i signed in the summer but has been struggling with an injury and likely won’t be cleared for a while. It was also noted that he isn’t currently factored into any plans on NXT or the main roster.

That being said, Lance is the son of Samu, who is a former WWE star and someone well-known to be part of the Samoan family.

How will Lance Anoa’i fit in with his family in WWE?

Anoa’i has been pushing to be signed by Triple H for more than a year and finally, it seems that he has been able to pique their interest. It will be interesting to see if he has a similar development to Solo Sikoa in NXT before he is called up when the moment is right.

Sikoa was able to make a name for himself alone in NXT before he joined his family on the main roster and has since been able to create his own Bloodline with Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu.

It will be interesting to see how Anoa’i is used and which side of The Bloodline war he will be put on or if he will work with Hikuleo who was also reportedly signed by the company earlier this year.

It seems to be an interesting time for The Bloodline and the current possibilities for the main roster storylines are endless.

  • Multi-time champion won’t return to WWE for a while; provides injury update

Injuries are common in professional wrestling, and WWE Superstars aren’t immune to them either. Recently, Karl Anderson stated he wouldn’t return to the promotion for a while and provided an update following his surgery.

Earlier this year, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows made their presence felt on the developmental brand and went after the NXT Tag Team Championship. Unfortunately, the former champs needed to hit the breaks from active competitiveness when Anderson picked up an injury.

The veteran is currently out of action due to a partially torn labrum and torn rotator cuff muscle, for which he recently underwent surgical procedures. Speaking on the TalkNShop podcast, the 44-year-old detailed his journey leading up to the surgery. Later, he provided an update and stated his expected timeline of being on the shelf was tentatively six to nine months.

“That’s the prognosis, I flew to Birmingham, and I got surgery. We’re not going to go too deep into it. It doesn’t really matter. The prognosis is six to nine months out,” Anderson said. [From 04:50 to 04:58]

Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows have held titles together in WWE

In 2016, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows were signed to WWE as a tag team. Later, they made a name for themselves in the Stamford-based promotion under Vince McMahon’s tutelage.

The duo won the RAW Tag Team Championship from Cesaro and Sheamus. The reign ended at WrestleMania 33 when The Hardy Boyz returned and won the titles in a Fatal Four-Way Ladder Match.

The two spent a while in limbo and eventually reunited with AJ Styles to re-form The O.C. Later, they won the RAW Tag Team Championship for the second time and then dropped it to Braun Strowman and Seth Rollins in less than a month.

In 2022, the two returned to WWE under Triple H’s creative leadership and reunited The O.C. Earlier this year, AJ Styles left the faction, and the two moved to the developmental brand.

  • Roman Reigns breaks silence after shocking loss to Solo Sikoa at WWE Crown Jewel

Roman Reigns’ WWE return hasn’t gone according to plan, although the journey has just begun. Today, the Original Tribal Chief broke silence following his shocking pinfall loss to Solo Sikoa during the Six-Man Tag Team Match.

Roman Reigns returned with a vengeance earlier this year and immediately targeted Solo Sikoa. The OTC ensured the new Tribal Chief could not get anywhere near the Undisputed WWE Championship and aided Cody Rhodes against his former Enforcer at SummerSlam in The Bloodline Rules title match.

However, Solo Sikoa surpassed expectations and achieved an unprecedented feat. The 31-year-old star secured a pinfall victory over the longest-reigning Undisputed WWE Universal Champion in the recently concluded Six-Man Tag Team Match at Crown Jewel. The Original Tribal Chief was stunned following the loss.

Today, Roman Reigns sent a cryptic message on his Instagram following his shocking pinfall loss to his cousin. The 39-year-old star wrote “TBC” and shared pictures of the match. Going by the two most common meanings of the abbreviation, it’s evident Reigns and The Usos aren’t done with Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline.

    “TBC,” Reigns wrote.

What happened when Roman Reigns was pinned by Solo Sikoa at WWE Crown Jewel 2024?

Earlier this year, Solo Sikoa built his army of Samoan and Tongan warriors to create a new version of The Bloodline. However, it came with a cost, and Jimmy Uso and Paul Heyman were brutalized and then removed from the group.

Later, Big Jim returned to WWE after months and cost Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu against Reigns and Cody Rhodes at Bad Blood in Atlanta. Unfortunately, the saga between the cousins and their respective factions seems far from over.

After Sikoa scored a win for his team by pinning Roman Reigns, the two factions brawled. Sikoa’s Bloodline gained momentum before Sami Zayn appeared in the ring and caught The Tribal Chief off-guard.

Solo Sikoa was surrounded by all four men of the OG Bloodline, but tragedy struck. Sami Zayn inadvertently hit Reigns with the Helluva Kick as Sikoa ducked out of harm’s way. The segment ended when the former Honorary Uce left as the Original Tribal Chief remained in disbelief.

  • 8-time WWE Champion will face Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania after winning Royal Rumble, says veteran

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes has won the last two Men’s Royal Rumble matches. A wrestling veteran recently predicted a massive superstar would win the upcoming Royal Rumble to challenge The American Nightmare at WrestleMania 41.

Ahead of this year’s Show of Shows, Rhodes had a heated feud with The Rock. The Final Boss pinned The American Nightmare in a tag team match on Night One of WrestleMania 40. On the RAW After WrestleMania, the 8-time WWE Champion confronted the 39-year-old and promised to go after him upon his return from hiatus. Last month, The Rock returned at Bad Blood to seemingly threaten Rhodes, Roman Reigns, and Jimmy Uso with a cryptic gesture.

On his The Brand podcast, former head writer Vince Russo predicted that The Rock would win the upcoming Men’s Royal Rumble to challenge Rhodes at WrestleMania 41. The Final Boss won the prestigious match once in his career 24 years ago:

“Mark this date down on your calendar please, November 7th, Vince Russo said The Rock was gonna win the Royal Rumble and he was going to face Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania. Write that down,” he said. [11:55 – 12:11]

Will The Rock end Cody Rhodes’ Undisputed WWE Championship reign?

Cody Rhodes has held the Undisputed WWE Championship ever since defeating Roman Reigns on Night Two of WrestleMania 40. He has since defended it against multiple superstars, including Kevin Owens, AJ Styles, and Solo Sikoa.

Speaking on the Busted Open podcast, Hall of Famer Mark Henry predicted that The Rock would be the one to end The American Nightmare’s championship reign. He pointed out that current World Heavyweight Champion Gunther would be his second choice:

“[Who do you think is going to end Cody Rhodes’ reign as Undisputed WWE Champion?] I would’ve liked to think that it would be The Rock but Gunther would be my next choice. And Imma tell you why I say The Rock. Because The Bloodline is in turmoil and leadership and ownership of who’s gonna be the leader of The Bloodline is the most imminent thing in The Bloodline future,” he said.

While Rhodes was pinned by The Rock earlier this year, he recently defeated Gunther to win the Crown Jewel Championship in Saudi Arabia. It would be interesting to see if either of these two superstars can dethrone The American Nightmare.

  • Surprising reason behind CM Punk’s recent WWE absence; potential return date revealed – Reports

CM Punk hasn’t been seen since the episode of WWE RAW after Bad Blood. There have been rumors that the former world champion was taking time off to recover from injuries relating to the brutal Hell in a Cell Match against Drew McIntyre at the PLE.

It seems that there could be more to his absence since Fightful Select was able to note in their Select Answers feature that CM Punk had already planned to be away from WWE at this point in the year. They were asked about him traveling to Saudi Arabia because he has made it clear in the past that he doesn’t want to work the show and it seems that is still the case.

The report noted that Punk wasn’t planned for either of the trips to the Middle East this year and isn’t expected to be part of WWE programming until after November 11.

Punk’s feud with Drew McIntyre has now come to an end and there was speculation that he could be given a shot against Gunther at Survivor Series, but it seems that Damian Priest has been handed that role.

Who will CM Punk feud with upon his WWE return?

CM Punk has a number of enemies in WWE and it seems that there could be a whole list of men for him to face when he makes his return.

Punk and Seth Rollins are expected to circle back on their feud at some point, but it may be too early to pull the trigger on that rivalry if WWE wants the storyline to run until WrestleMania 41 next April.

Rollins also has Bronson Reed to deal with, a feud that could take him past Survivor Series and then open the door to a feud with Punk at the Royal Rumble next year, which is scheduled for a little later than usual, on February 1.

  • Triple H will be gone from WWE in 2025; The Rock’s close friend is a possible replacement, says veteran

Triple H has been part of WWE for nearly three decades. However, a wrestling veteran predicted that The Game would leave the Stamford-based company in 2025.

Following a legendary career as an in-ring performer, Triple H has held several executive positions in WWE. In 2022, he became the new Chief Content Officer after Vince McMahon’s initial retirement. Although the former chairman returned the following year, The Game remained in his position. As McMahon left again earlier this year amid being sued by former employee Janel Grant for alleged sex trafficking and sexual assault, the company announced the kickoff of the Paul “Triple H” Levesque era. Since then, other lawsuits have been filed against McMahon, WWE, and TKO.

Nonetheless, former WWE head writer Vince Russo believes Triple H’s era would be short-lived. Speaking on his The Brand podcast, the wrestling veteran predicted that The Game’s stint in the Stamford-based company would end in 2025. He pointed out that The Rock may want to replace the 14-time world champion with his close friend, business partner, and former head writer Brian Gewirtz:

“Guys, I have said this and I am not gonna go off of my prediction. I think Hunter will be gone from the WWE in 2025. I’m sorry, these lawsuits are gonna develop. A lot more is gonna come out of them. Ari Emanuel has The Rock on the board. Ari Emanuel and The Rock have a very very very long relationship. And The Rock is so key to this because why do I need Triple H if I got The Rock? You don’t think The Rock doesn’t have a laundry list of people that he’d want to hire and bring into the fold? Brian Gewirtz at the top of that list. I don’t really see a need for Triple H if Ari’s got Rock in his back pocket,” he said. [9:54 – 10:54]

Ex-WWE employee’s brother also predicts Triple H’s departure

In a recent episode of his Wrestling with the Devil podcast, Lee Cole, brother of former ring boy Tom Cole, addressed the future of the Stamford-based company amid the recently filed “ring boy” lawsuit against Vince & Linda McMahon, WWE, and TKO.

Cole predicted that TKO would get rid of all former Vince McMahon associates remaining in the promotion, including Triple H and Bruce Prichard. Meanwhile, he suggested Nick Khan will take over full control of the company:

“Mark my words. You’ll see this man [Nick Khan] take over. Right now, he’s kind of in charge already but he’s gonna really be in charge. He’ll bring in his whole regime and stuff and he’ll be part of the changes. And they’re not gonna deal with these guys like Prichard. They’re not gonna deal with a Triple H anymore because they can’t. They have to answer to their stockholders,” he said.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Chief Content Officer Triple H and the company.

  • Mercedes Mone addresses the possibility of facing current WWE champion

Mercedes Moné, the current AEW TBS Champion and NJPW Strong Women’s Champion, commented on the possibility of facing off against the current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Jade Cargill.

During her appearance on the Battleground podcast, Moné addressed the fans’ interest in seeing her compete against Cargill.

“You never know in pro wrestling. No, I’ve never crossed paths with her, but at every autograph signing I’ve done, even before I came to AEW, a lot of fans would say, ‘I hope you get to face Jade, I want to see you against Jade.’ I thought, okay, and then I came to [AEW], and she went to the other place, but you never know. There are so many dream matches out there, so you just never know in pro wrestling,” Moné said.

  • “I was in a tough spot because of Roman Reigns” – Former champion opens up about how he messed up the cash-in.

Austin Theory revealed details about his unsuccessful attempt to cash in his Money in the Bank contract during the November 7, 2022 episode of Monday Night RAW.

During his appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Theory commented on the event: “I don’t feel like there’s always a plan. To be honest, the only thing I kind of knew would happen is if you’re aware of a match that’s going to take place at a pay-per-view. If you’re on that path, like Cena for example, I knew we had done promos, so I knew we were going to have the match.”

“Honestly, a lot of things, like when I first had the United States Championship [shrugs], Money in the Bank [shrugs], the second time with the United States Championship [shrugs], you know, it’s just about seeing what happens.”

“And at the same time, with the briefcase, I was in a tough spot because of Roman Reigns, the position he was in and where they were taking him. I would have loved to cash in on Roman, even if it ended up being a failed attempt; I think it would have been cool because I would never cash in for the United States Championship.”

After the event, Austin Theory won the United States Championship at WWE Survivor Series WarGames in November 2022, in a Triple Threat Match against Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley.

  • Malakai Black addresses speculation about joining WWE

After his loss to Adam Cole during the AEW Dynamite on November 6, 2024, Malakai Black addressed speculation about his future.

“Here we are again, after a loss. And once again, everyone’s saying, ‘He’s retiring. He’s retiring because of his injuries and this and that.’ Well, none of that is true. I’m not injured, I’m not retiring, and I’m not going anywhere. I feel like this happens with every match I have. And I don’t understand how many times you all are going to say this stuff; it hasn’t happened, yet people still keep believing it.

I haven’t been injured for over three years, and I’m talking about the back injury, of course, and I only posted about it after it was already resolved. If you had read the post, you would have seen that instead of going by what others have said about it. I’m fine. I’ve been fine for a long time. I would really appreciate it if this would stop. If I’m going to retire, you’ll hear it from me and not just after Adam cuts a promo thanking me for the match, because that was all it was. So, thank you.”

As we previously reported, Black’s contract with AEW will expire at the end of this year.
