  • Michael Cole wrongly names 37-year-old female star in botched moment at Survivor Series 2024

Michael Cole found a new lease on life in his commentary career a few years ago when Pat McAfee joined. Under the Triple H regime, he has thrived regardless of his partner, but that couldn’t stop him from making an honest and hilarious mistake at Survivor Series: WarGames 2024.

The first match of the premium live event was as expected, the Women’s WarGames Match. So far, it has been tradition for the women’s gimmick match to open the proceedings, while the men’s clash closes the show. That applied for the third year in a row.

During the early stages of the Women’s WarGames Match, the voice of WWE Michael Cole accidentally referred to Naomi as Tiffany Stratton. While it was an honest mistake, it was also a hilarious one.

The Women’s WarGames match began chaotically and things just escalated as each member was added into the mix. Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan was the last member to enter the steel structure, after which the bout officially began.

Naomi even paid tribute to her father-in-law and Nia Jax’s family member, Rikishi by giving the WWE Women’s Champion a stinkface.

Naomi has had an excellent run in WWE so far in 2024 and the WarGames Match is another feather in her cap.

  • Mercedes Mone has a surprising reaction to AEW star quitting; drops a subtle tease about future plans

The current AEW TBS Champion, Mercedes Mone dropped a tease on her future plans in the promotion while reacting to a star quitting. A popular star walked out on The CEO last Wednesday on Dynamite.

The AEW star in question is Mercedes Mone’s former bodyguard, Kamille. The 32-year-old walked out on Mone on Dynamite last Wednesday just as the champion was about to fire her muscle, leaving The CEO quite annoyed. On the most recent episode of Rampage, the TBS Champion was asked about her former ally in a backstage segment.

The CEO stopped Renee Paquette from asking the question stating she didn’t want to hear that name again. The TBS and NJPW Strong Women’s Champion also teased going after another title, mentioning she would love more championship gold for the upcoming Christmas season.

Mercedes Mone teasing going after another championship could mean she might be thinking of challenging the current AEW Women’s World Champion, Mariah May, or a different women’s title from one of the Jacksonville-based promotion’s partners, including CMLL.

Only time will tell what the current TBS and NJPW Strong Women’s Champion is talking about who her next opponent could be after her last match at Full Gear.

  • “I don’t find this as offensive as Rikishi” – Corey Graves stunned after real-life Bloodline member pulls off audacious move on Nia Jax

WWE Survivor Series: WarGames is expected to have quite a few surprising and bold moments. But a particular comment by Corey Graves stole the show early, judging by the reactions of the fans.

The PLE kicked off with the Women’s WarGames match in spectacular fashion, starting out with Nia Jax and Bayley. It wasn’t long before Naomi also joined the fray, making it a two versus one scenario. However, Nia still proved to be too much for them most of the time.

At one point, Nia Jax was thrown into the bottom turnbuckle, and Naomi put a toilet seat around her neck. Taking inspiration from Rikishi, she executed a stinkface and humiliated Nia. What drew more attention, however, was Corey Graves’ cheeky comment about the spot. He said:

“I don’t find this as offensive as Rikishi.”

You can check out the spot here:

In the ensuing moments, the other participants in the match entered the ring to make for a truly chaotic WarGames match. Each new wrestler in the ring meant a new piece of equipment, with Liv Morgan coming in and holding a baseball bat as well. In the end, however, Ripley was able to pin Liv Morgan and take the win.

  • Tiffany Stratton ATTACKS Nia Jax; Money in the Bank cash-in attempted at WWE Survivor Series

Tiffany Stratton performed a splash on Nia Jax during their match at Survivor Series: WarGames. She then attempted to cash in her Money in the Bank briefcase.

Ever since Stratton won the Money in the Bank briefcase, Nia Jax has tried to keep her close and manipulate her so that she doesn’t cash in her Money in the Bank briefcase for Nia’s title. However, Stratton has teased cashing in the briefcase on Jax a couple of times only to be thwarted at each attempt. Tonight, during the Women’s WarGames match, Stratton dived off the cage onto a group of people, including Jax.

Following this, she pulled out her Money in the Bank briefcase from a trash can and contemplated which champion she should cash in on as both Nia Jax and Liv Morgan were down. However, her cash-in attempt was spoiled by IYO SKY, who used a fire extinguisher on her, and the match continued normally.

It will be interesting to see if this cash-in attempt by Tiffany Stratton will cause some issues in her partnership with Nia Jax. Nia won’t be happy that her partner was about to cash in the Money in the Bank briefcase on her.

  • [PHOTO] Otis did the most unbelievable thing in front of Maxxine Dupri backstage at Survivor Series 2024

Things in the Alpha Academy are certainly weird, and Otis may have made it weirder after what happened with Maxxine Durpi. In a backstage segment, he did the most unbelievable thing.

It was clear that an advertisement was playing backstage, with the “True Classic” logo seen in the corner. Akira Tozawa was knocking on the locker room door, seemingly attempting to get Otis out of there. Maxxine Dupri came to him with a t-shirt and told him to give it to the powerhouse of the Alpha Academy.

Otis came out and put on the t-shirt before Maxxine Durpi gave him a weird look and said he needed pants. The former Tag Team Champion walked away from the scene with the lower part of his body pixelated and blurred as he seemingly wasn’t wearing anything underneath. It was certainly bizarre even for an advertisement.

The Alpha Academy would be looking to capitalize on its momentum. Recently, the group defeated The New Day on RAW within a minute. It led to Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston having a bit of a meltdown.

The trio has done a remarkable job without Chad Gable but has yet to win a championship.

It would be interesting to see where things lead. Hopefully, with the powerhouse wearing his pants.

  • Mariah May reacts to former WWE star teasing a blockbuster title match during AEW Rampage

Mariah May has just responded to a former WWE Superstar hinting at going after her AEW Women’s World Championship earlier tonight on Rampage. She was clearly unfazed by this.

The Glamour has held the Women’s World Championship since All In, ending Toni Storm’s long title reign. She has defended her gold on multiple occasions, but no one on the roster has managed to take her down yet. Another star who has been dominant since becoming champion in the Jacksonville-based promotion has been Mercedes Moné. She has yet to lose a single bout since signing with the company.

Earlier tonight on AEW Rampage, Mercedes Moné mentioned that this coming Christmas season she wished for more titles. On X (fka Twitter) Mariah May has responded and she has sent out a bold message to the TBS Champion. It seems that she does not see Moné as a major threat to her title reign.

“There are certain things money can’t buy…,” she wrote.

Mariah May is set to put her title on the line against Mina Shirakawa

At AEW Full Gear last Saturday, Mariah May shocked the world by turning on another person closest to her, this time her longtime friend Mina Shirakawa.

Both women were tag team partners during their time together on STARDOM, but they kept up their friendship despite being signed to different companies. Since the Japanese promotion has a working relationship with AEW, the two stars ended up reuniting, but this was not enough to prevent May from turning on her longtime friend.

A match between the two has been booked for Dynamite: Winter is Coming, which will take place less than two weeks from now.

Should May come out on top after this title defense, she will once again be left with no one in her way to challenge her title reign. Seeing as the same can be said for Mercedes Moné, the two could feud instead to prove who rules the women’s division in AEW.

  • Nia Jax hilariously botches basic strike at Survivor Series WarGames

Nia Jax was inside WarGames at Survivor Series earlier tonight. The WWEWomen’s Champion was part of an interesting botch.

The match was filled with weapons, which meant many chair shots, and many fans pulled up how awkward Jax was the moment she picked up a chair. There was one spot in particular where Jax tried to hit Naomi but thought better of it and instead tapped her on the side.

Naomi was initially trying to avoid a shot to the head, which is obviously banned in WWE, so she put her hands up. Nia Jax then stopped, realised she shouldn’t hit anyone on the head with a chair, and instead hit her on the side before moving on to work with Bayley.

The spot was both confusing and hilarious, but overall, it didn’t affect the match’s outcome since, as expected, it came down to Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan.

Ripley and Morgan were the last women to be added to the match, and it was the Women’s World Champion who Ripley pinned to cost her team the match after she took a RipTide off the top rope and through a table.

  • Deafening silence at Survivor Series as 44-year-old legend wins first WWE championship in nearly 3 years

A wrestling veteran won his first WWE championship in nearly three years tonight at Survivor Series: WarGames. Fans were surprised by the outcome of the match.

Shinsuke Nakamura was already an established star in Japan before he debuted in NXT. He found immediate success on the black and silver brand before making it to the main roster, where he won the Royal Rumble match. However, it was all downhill from here.

The last year has not been kind to the King of Strong Style. He had a lackluster feud against Cody Rhodes and was taken off TV in April 2024. However, he made his return on the November 15th episode of SmackDown and attacked LA Knight. Since then, he has seemingly gotten into the head of the United States Champion.

Tonight on Survivor Series: WarGames, LA Knight attempted to defend his US Title against Shinsuke Nakamura. It looked like the mind games Nakamura played over the weeks finally paid off as he was able to defeat Knight and win his first championship in WWE in nearly three years. His last title win was on August 13, 2021, when he won the Intercontinental Championship.

It looks like Shinsuke Nakamura’s career is starting to gain momentum again after tonight’s win.

  • LA Knight foreshadows United States Championship loss with massive botch at WWE Survivor Series

LA Knight surprisingly lost his United States Championship to Shinsuke Nakamura at Survivor Series earlier tonight. The match’s outcome was among the biggest shocks of the night.

Knight was hit with a Kinshasa before the title changed hands. But this came after The Megastar literally dropped his championship while heading to the ring as part of his entrance.

The now-former United States Champion posed on the ropes with the title before accidentally dropping it to the floor. Knight had to pick the championship up before handing it to the referee.

It was an interesting botch, which happened just moments before Nakamura secured the title. The outcome came as a surprise since the Japanese star had only recently made his return, and there had only been a few weeks of build in this feud.

LA Knight won the title from Logan Paul at SummerSlam 2024. He was a fighting champion over the past few months. Meanwhile, Nakamura returned to SmackDown a few weeks ago and targeted The Megastar.

This past week on SmackDown, Nakamura spat black mist in the face of Knight, showing that he had completely changed his character upon his return to the company. The King of Strong Style was inactive on WWE TV for months before his comeback.

  • Michael Cole gives his on-screen rival their “proper due” after making a mistake at Survivor Series: WarGames

Michael Cole didn’t get off to the best start at Survivor Series: WarGames after making a few noticeable errors today. One of them was acknowledged by him and he gave his on-screen rival their proper due.

During the Women’s WarGames match, the voice of WWE Michael Cole would accidentally refer to Naomi as Tiffany Stratton. However, he mentioned on more than one occasion that IYO SKY beat Bayley to win the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 40. It was the complete opposite as The Role Model beat The Genius of the Sky at The Show of Shows this year. Cole and Bayley are long-time on-screen rivals.

Although the rivalry between Bayley and Michael Cole has cooled down, the voice of WWE still ensured she was given her proper due, acknowledging his mistake regarding her “loss” to IYO SKY at WrestleMania 40.

Usually, Cole targets people who he loves in real life – which is why he goes after Dominik Mysterio with venom in his tongue, and also the reason why he used to actively target AJ Francis fka Top Dolla.

Similarly, he likely has great affection towards Bayley, leading to their on-screen rivalry.

Bayley played a huge role at Survior Series: WarGames in helping her team pick up the massive win. She replaced Jade Cargill after the Women’s Tag Team Champion was taken out by a mystery assailant a few weeks ago on SmackDown.
