  • Britt Baker breaks silence on how she landed major offer outside AEW

AEW star Britt Baker has revealed how she landed a role in a popular series. The D.M.D. recently made an appearance in Cobra Kai’ssixth season onNetflix.

Britt Baker portrayed the role of a Russian sensei from the Tiger Strike dojo, competing in the Sekai Taikai tournament in Barcelona.

In an interview with USA Magazine, Baker revealed how she got a role in Cobra Kai. The D.M.D. said that after casually mentioning how she wanted to be a part of the show to writer Hayden Schlossberg, the latter gave her a call and offered an opportunity to her.

    The Doctor said:

“I met one of the writers, Hayden [Schlossberg], and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m Britt!’ He recognized me from social media. I kind of joked, but not joking, ‘If you ever need anything, I’m a huge fan and would love to be involved.’ Eventually he called me and said, ‘You really have the Cobra Kai never say die attitude. If you’re interested, we have a role for you in mind, and this is what it is!”’ [H/T: RingsideNews]

Britt Baker loves to watch WWE and AEW’s products

WWE and All Elite Wrestling have been competitors since 2019. However, there are some talents in both promotions who appreciate both products. One of them is Britt Baker.

In a recent interview with Fightful, The Doctor shared her love for All Elite Wrestling’s Women’s Division and revealed that she religiously followed her company and WWE’s products.

“I love the AEW Women’s Division; I love AEW; I love pro wrestling. I watch both companies religiously,” Britt Baker said. [From 09:11 to 09:43]

Meanwhile, we will have to wait and see what the Tony Khan-led creative team has in store for The D.M.D. in the coming weeks.

  • “This is what you’re getting paid for” – Veteran lashes out at CM Punk over his recent comments about AEW (Exclusive)

CM Punk had one of the most controversial runs in AEW’s history. Recently, Punk made some alarming comments about his matches in All Elite Wrestling, and Sportskeeda’s Senior editor, legendary journalist Bill Apter, has slammed The Best in the World for his remarks.

Punk returned to professional wrestling after signing with AEW in 2021. He had a controversial run in the company but also had some great matches with Samoa Joe, MJF, Ricky Starks, and more. However, CM Punk believes that he wasted some of his bouts with some stars in Tony Khan’s promotion. The statement created a lot of buzz as many veterans and fans reacted to it on social media.

In the recent edition of Sportskeeda’s The Wrestling Time Machine hosted by Mac Davis, Bill Apter revealed that he was surprised to read CM Punk’s comments about his matches in AEW. He said that if Punk is wrestling somebody, it’s a part of his job.

Apter further called Punk a pro but noted that sometimes The Best in the World gets his wording out of place, recalling his infamous Pipebomb from 2011.

“First of all, I’m surprised he [CM Punk] even said that. You know, when you’re in the ring against somebody, you’re not wasting your time. You’re working. This is what you’re getting paid for. This is what you’re supposed to be doing. And you and your opponent are supposed to be putting on the best performance you can do. So to me, it’s a comment that I don’t take very fondly that he would say something like that. CM Punk is a pro, but just like the pipebomb that he dropped many years ago on WWE, sometimes his wording is out of place.” [From 10:31 to 11:12]

CM Punk left AEW and returned to WWE last year

After a controversial brawl-out incident in late 2022, CM Punk returned to AEW in June 2023. However, he got into a backstage fight with Jack Perry ahead of last year’s All In pay-per-view, leading to Tony Khan terminating Punk’s All Elite contract in September 2023. The Second City Saint then made his historic WWE return in November 2023 at Survivor Series: WarGames.

Since then, CM Punk has had one of the best feuds of this year against Drew McIntyre and is set to be the fifth man for the Original Bloodline (Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, and Sami Zayn) against The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa) and Bronson Reed in the WarGames match at this year’s premium live event.

We will have to wait and see how CM Punk manages to work with Roman Reigns in the WarGames match.

  • WWE has spoiled the result of major Survivor Series match by recent booking, says former host Matt Camp

This year’s WWE Survivor Series: WarGames card will feature five anticipated matches. Former RAW Talk host Matt Camp recently claimed the company’s recent booking has seemingly spoiled the result of one of these square-offs.

Damian Priest lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Gunther at SummerSlam after getting betrayed by his former Judgment Day member Finn Balor. The Archer of Infamy will try to recapture the title when he goes head-to-head with The Ring General tonight at Survivor Series: WarGames. Over the past two weeks, Priest has been getting the best of his opponent on Monday Night RAW.

Speaking on his The Wrestling Matt podcast, Camp claimed creative, led by Triple H, having Priest looking “so strong” heading into Survivor Series seemingly meant that he would lose to Gunther:

“I think it’s a tell to have Priest look so strong the last two weeks that Gunther is gonna win on Saturday. It’s just, it would be an odd way to take the title off of Gunther,” he said. [From 30:44 to 30:59]

Wrestling veteran also thinks Gunther will retain his title at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames

On the Straight Talk with The Boss podcast, wrestling veteran Magnum T.A. also discussed the upcoming World Heavyweight Championship match between Damian Priest and Gunther.

The 65-year-old predicted that WWE would have Gunther retain the title, especially after he lost to Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel:

“I mean they got the gas on Gunther, they’re not gonna back off him. He did the favor for Cody at that pay-per-view [PLE] but they got too much invested in him and he’s too good,” he said.

The Ring General recently surpassed 115 days as World Heavyweight Champion. It would be interesting to see if his title reign would continue after tonight.

  • Bianca Belair breaks character to praise ex-WWE rival; the two will participate in the Women’s WarGames Match

At WWE Survivor Series: WarGames, Bianca Belair is set to join forces with some of her former rivals. Ahead of the premium live event, The EST stepped out of her on-screen character to praise IYO SKY.

Ever since Damage CTRL returned to WWE in 2022, they have feuded with Belair on several occasions, involving former member Bayley and the rest of the crew. However, for tonight’s Women’s WarGames Match in Vancouver, Canada, the three will team up with Naomi and Rhea Ripleyto face Nia Jax, Liv Morgan, Tiffany Stratton, Candice LeRae, and Raquel Rodriguez.

During an appearance on the No-Contest Wrestling podcast, the former RAW Women’s Champion was asked to share her thoughts on working with The Genius of The SKY. Bianca Belair broke character and called the 34-year-old WWE star the best in the business. She highlighted her long history and shared experiences with IYO SKY in NXT, including their first-ever Women’s WarGames Match:

“IYO [SKY] is amazing. She’s literally one of the best in the business. IYO SKY, we’ve been fighting alongside and against each other for years. We were in NXT together, we were apart of the very first Women’s War Games match ever together in NXT. IYO actually has the most experience out of all of us, she’s been in six WarGames matches. I’ve been in four,” Belair said. [H/T: Fightful]

Biana Belair makes a bold claim about IYO SKY ahead of WWE Survivor Series: WarGames

During the same interaction on the No-Contest Wrestling podcast, The EST of WWE made a huge statement about IYO SKY. Belair claimed she has great in-ring chemistry with the Damage CTRL member.

Bianca Belair also emphasized IYO SKY’s innovation and athleticism, particularly her daring moves like Moonsaults off the double-caged steel structure.

“We probably have the most chemistry out of everybody working together. She’s amazing. She’s fast, she’s creative, she’s innovative, she’s doing moonsaults off the top of the cage with trash cans. She’s amazing, I think we have amazing chemistry together and I love working with IYO,” she added. [H/T: Fightful]

Only time will tell if Belair and SKY will struggle to be on the same page or defeat the heel team at Survivor Series later tonight.

  • Jim Ross reveals “disrespectful” prank Vince McMahon played on him in WWE

Vince McMahon worked as a WWE commentator during the early days of RAW in the 1990s. Jim Ross recently disclosed details about the former WWE Chairman purposely cutting his microphone live on television.

On October 20, 1996, Stone Cold Steve Austin defeated Hunter Hearst Helmsley in the opening match at WWE In Your House 11: Buried Alive. McMahon and fellow commentator Jerry Lawler had no problem calling the action. However, Ross’ microphone repeatedly cut out, causing him to get legitimately annoyed on commentary.

A fan asked Ross about the incident on the latest episode of his Grilling JR podcast. The AEW announcer confirmed that the microphone drama was unplanned and was orchestrated by McMahon:

“It was a rib from McMahon,” Ross said. “It was out of the blue, so it’s like nobody told me. Very disrespectful, I thought, and amateur hour-ish. Of course, Lawler went right along with it and laughed, like it was a great idea, and then after the show’s over he said, ‘Goddam, that must have been miserable.’ It was. So it was a rib from McMahon. That’s just his sense of humor.” [1:01:26 – 1:01:56]

Ross worked for WWE for a combined 23 years between 1993 and 2019. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007.

Jim Ross addresses Vince McMahon’s humor

Grilling JR host Conrad Thompson questioned whether Vince McMahon’s pranks were always “mean-spirited” or if he ever played light-hearted jokes on people.

According to Jim Ross, his former boss mostly made fun of someone whenever he wanted to joke around at work:

“I think they were all sort of the mean-spirited slant, Conrad. I’m not looking for a shoulder to cry on, but there were a lot of times, especially in my headset, where he would produce us, then we’d go to commercial break and he’d chew me out.” [1:02:15 – 1:02:32]

Ross also gave his take on a 2003 storyline involving Kane that he believes lacked logic and wasted the audience’s time.

  • “I’m absolutely not interested” – Wrestling legend unhappy with Jon Moxley and Death Riders’ booking in AEW

The Death Riders, led by Jon Moxley, is currently on a mission to restore AEW’s glory. However, wrestling veteran Konnan recently noted that he does not care about Moxley’s faction due to its booking.

Jon Moxley formed The Death Riders with PAC, Marina Shafir, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta. The group has been causing havoc in AEW and has helped Moxley get to the top of the promotion by becoming World Champion at the WrestleDream pay-per-view.

In the recent edition of the Keepin’ It 100 podcast, Wrestling veteran Konnan revealed that he has no interest in The Death Riders. He mentioned that Jon Moxley might potentially be booking the angle but said he isn’t invested in the storyline.

“I’m absolutely not interested, they’ve done nothing to interest me. They don’t come off as intimidating or interesting. Whoever is writing this, if it’s [Jon] Moxley, that’s good because you’re getting a lot of TV at the beginning and you look cool. But, I’m not invested in this at all.” [From 10:00 to 10:20]

Jon Moxley shares his vision for AEW

Jon Moxley has been working on changing All Elite Wrestling for the past few months. However, he has faced many obstacles, including Darby Allin and Orange Cassidy, who have tried to bring him down.

In a recent interview with CBS Sports, Jon Moxley revealed that his vision for All Elite Wrestling was that every star would find success. He slammed the previous state of the promotion, in which no star took responsibility for their actions.

“I had a vision. A vision of a future. A vision that could be ours. That it could belong to everybody. A vision of a world where everyone can be successful […] One thing I found challenging in the previous iteration of AEW was, I found it challenging to find anyone who would take responsibility for anything. ‘It’s not my fault’ was a thing that would be heard bouncing around the hallways of AEW quite ubiquitously,” he said. [H/T – Fightful]

Jon Moxley retained his World Title against Orange Cassidy last weekend at Full Gear. We will have to wait and see which star stands up to The Death Riders and tries to dethrone Moxley for the World Title.

  • Jade Cargill’s attacker; shocking swerve with The Wyatt Sicks? – 4 ways Alexa Bliss can return to WWE

WWE has a lot of big names currently out injured or otherwise away from television. This is especially true of the women’s division, with several former champions and exciting athletes on the shelf.

For example, Becky Lynch and Jade Cargill are both currently away from television. Meanwhile, Charlotte Flair, Shotzi, and Asuka are names who are currently out injured. Three female stars have also been absent due to maternity leave in Carmela, Alexa Bliss, and Valhalla.

Thankfully, one of the three stars currently on maternity leave could soon be back on television. Alexa Bliss is reportedly ready to return and rumors are swirling that Triple H and World Wrestling Entertainment are working on ideas for her comeback.

While there had been rumors that Alexa wouldn’t be back until the new year, if an idea strikes, she could return at any time. This article will look at four different ways the former champion could return to television, which includes chasing after a new title and joining a popular stable.

Below are four ways Alexa Bliss can return to WWE.

#4. She could be part of the Women’s Intercontinental Championship Tournament

WWE has introduced two major championships in recent weeks. Nick Aldis revealed the Women’s United States Championship, which will be exclusive to SmackDown. A tournament is already underway to crown the first-ever champion.

Not to be outdone, WWE Monday Night RAW General Manager Adam Pearce recently announced the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. In fact, the tournament for the new title kicks off beginning on Monday.

Nobody has been officially revealed as being part of the tournament, which means anybody could conceivably be involved. In what would be a fun and interesting twist, Alexa could return to television and attempt to win the title, putting her name in the history books forever as the first-ever Women’s Intercontinental Champion.

#3. Alexa Bliss could be part of The Wyatt Sicks

The Wyatt Sicks is one of the most intriguing factions in WWE today. Uncle Howdy is the leader and he is joined by Nikki Cross, Joe Gacy, Dexter Lumis, and Erick Rowan. They make for a dominant stable.

Interestingly, Bliss has some sort of history or a connection to various members. She and Nikki are former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. Additionally, Alexa was aligned with Bray Wyatt at one point, which means she could have ties to both his brother Bo Dallas and to Erick Rowan from The Wyatt Family.

In a move that would make a lot of sense, Alexa could join The Wyatt Sicks and bring back her spooky persona. In fact, she and Nikki could reunite as a tag team and attempt to bring gold to the sinister faction, especially if the belts are vacated soon.

#2. She could shockingly join The Final Testament and take out Nikki Cross

While Alexa Bliss joining The Wyatt Sicks and even reuniting with Nikki Cross in WWE feels like the most likely scenario, there could be a swerve. Instead of helping The Wyatt Sicks, Alexa could go against them.

More specifically, Triple H and WWE could book a match between Scarlett and Nikki Cross following their recent altercation backstage at RAW. Then, in a stunning moment, Alexa could show up and cost Nikki the win, allowing Scarlett to stand tall.

With this move, Alexa could officially join The Final Testament. Scarlett is mostly a non-wrestler, so Bliss’ inclusion could lead to the group having a female star capable of chasing gold and potentially bringing a women’s world championship to the stable.

#1. Alexa could be revealed as Jade Cargill’s attacker from WWE SmackDown

Tragedy struck a recent episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown. Women’s Tag Team Champion Jade Cargill was found injured on the top of a hood and windshield of a car. She was bloody and likely covered in glass. It was a tough scene.

Cargill was then brought to the emergency room, but for now, nobody in WWE is seemingly aware of who attacked her. Fans have theorized the likes of Nia Jax, Tiffany Stratton, Bianca Belair, Naomi, and Bayley as possible culprits.

In what could be a fun surprise, Alexa Bliss might be the one who did the attack. The former world champion might have pushed Jade off of the upper area onto the car when nobody was around. This could then lead to a feud between the two in time for WrestleMania.

  • 4 Signs Bron Breakker will lose the Intercontinental Championship at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames

WWE Survivor Series: WarGames 2024 is looking like an absolutely stacked card. The focal point of the PLE will be the Men’s and Women’s WarGames Matches.

In addition to the two WarGames Matches, there will be three championship bouts. Gunther and Damian Priest will fight over the World Heavyweight Title, LA Knight and Shinsuke Nakamura will clash over the United States Championship, and the Intercontinental Title will also be on the line.

The Intercontinental Title bout will see reigning champion Bron Breakker take on Ludwig Kaiser and Sheamus in a Triple Threat Match. This comes after all three have had issues with each other for months now.

While many might expect Breakker to simply retain his title, some indicators point to the Intercontinental Championship changing hands. This article will look at four signs that The Dog of WWE may lose his prized gold tonight.

Below are four signs Bron Breakker will lose the Intercontinental Championship at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames.

#4. Sheamus deserves his moment with the Intercontinental Title and has yet to have it

Sheamus has done nearly everything there is to do in pro wrestling. The Irish superstar is a multi-time WWE World Champion. He’s held numerous tag team belts and the United States Championship. Sheamus has also won King of the Ring, the Money in the Bank briefcase, and the Men’s Royal Rumble Match.

However, one thing The Celtic Warrior has yet to do in WWE is win the Intercontinental Championship. For over two years now, Sheamus has made it clear that winning the iconic title is his major goal.

The fact that Sheamus has yet to have his moment with the IC Title may be a sign that the championship will change hands tonight. Triple H won’t book Sheamus to chase it forever; the 46-year-old has to win the belt eventually.

#3. Bron Breakker wouldn’t need to be pinned

Sheamus, Ludwig Kaiser, and Bron Breakker will be fighting over the WWE Intercontinental Championship in a Triple Threat Match later tonight. This means there will be no disqualifications, and whichever star gets the first successful pinfall or submission will be crowned the champion.

There is a catch, of course. WWE champions going into Triple Threat Matches are at a major disadvantage. The champion doesn’t need to be involved in the finish to lose their title. For example, Ludwig could pin Sheamus, and thus Breakker would lose his belt without being the one who was pinned.

While that can be frustrating, it can also be a way to have a champion lose their title without taking a loss. Triple H and company officials may have plans to take the belt away from Breakker without having him pinned. If that were the case, the Triple Threat Match tonight could give us a new champion. Why else have The Dog of WWE in a Triple Threat Match if he is just going to win?

#2. Ludwig Kaiser is seemingly being pushed by WWE

While Sheamus can certainly be the one who dethrones Bron Breakker tonight, a different star may leave WWE Survivor Series: WarGames with the gold. Ludwig Kaiser might get the win.

The German star has slowly been pushed as a singles star over the past year. Recently, that push has been furthered, thanks to World Heavyweight Champion Gunther encouraging Kaiser to go out and be his own man.

With all signs pointing to a continued push on WWE television, this may be an indication that he’ll walk away with the Intercontinental Championship tonight. If Kaiser brings the belt to Imperium, he and Gunther will truly dominate the men’s side of Monday Night RAW.

#1. Bron Breakker has lost and regained titles quickly in the past

Bron Breakker has an interesting history with singles titles in the Stamford-based company. In January 2022, the 27-year-old won the coveted NXT Championship but went on to lose it to Nic Nemeth (FKA Dolph Ziggler) in just over two months. However, he regained the title in April 2022.

On the main roster, Bron replicated this formula with the Intercontinental Championship. He defeated Sami Zayn to win the title at SummerSlam 2024, only to lose it to Jey Uso on RAW in September. However, Bron defeated The YEET Master and regained the prized gold the following month.

Given that Bron has the ability to quickly regain his title, the formula may continue again. Signs point to Bron losing his belt to either Sheamus or Ludwig, but if history is any indication, he’ll soon have the gold back around his waist anyway.

  • “LET’S CHANGE THE GAME” – Cody Rhodes called out by Bullet Club member to defend the Undisputed WWE Championship in a different promotion

Cody Rhodes has been called out by Bullet Club War Dogs member Gabe Kidd on social media. The 27-year-old NJPW star has challenged The American Nightmare to defend the Undisputed WWE Championship at the Tokyo Dome. Notably, the iconic venue will host Wrestle Dynasty in January 2025. The event will feature stars from several promotions, including NJPW.

In 2016, Rhodes announced himself as the newest member of the Bullet Club. During his tenure in the faction, he won the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship and caused a civil war while feuding with Kenny Omega over the faction’s leadership.

Meanwhile, on X (Twitter), Gabe Kidd challenged Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

“I’m past the point of caring what these men who’ve been chilling in this game for 20+ years, I think! @CodyRhodes, I’ve beat [sic] you clean! If you [are] a real champ, come to the Tokyo Dome and defend that WWE Title against me. What you got to lose, p***y? LET’S CHANGE THE GAME!” he wrote.

    Check out Gabe Kidd’s tweet.

Vince Russo discussed the possibility of Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens headlining Saturday Night’s Main Event

Cody Rhodes will defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens at Saturday’s Night Main Event on December 14. Notably, KO betrayed The American Nightmare by ambushing the latter in the parking lot at Bad Blood 2024.

Meanwhile, speaking on BroDown on Backstage Pass, Russo discussed the idea of Rhodes and Owens headlining Saturday Night’s Main Event.

“I’m just hoping this doesn’t backfire because Saturday Night’s Main Event used to be a big deal. And bro, let’s face it… it was a big deal because back then SNL was red hot. If [viewers] tuned in, waiting to see SNL, they hung around to watch wrestling. We had stars on wrestling back then that [sic] were larger than life,” he said.

Cody Rhodes defeated Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL to win the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in a Bloodline Rules Match. The American Nightmare has since retained his title against AJ Styles, Logan Paul, and Kevin Owens. It will be interesting to see if The Prizefighter dethrones Cody next month.

  • 4-time WWE champion teases reuniting with Randy Orton after 925 days

A multi-time WWE champion recently spoke about keeping in touch with Randy Orton and hinted at a potential reunion down the line. Matt Riddle revealed that he and his former tag team partner still exchanged messages regularly.

Riddle and Orton’s tag team, RK-Bro, was a surprise hit with the fans, as not many expected them to gel well. Their contrasting personalities led to several memorable moments, and the duo even captured tag team gold two times on the main roster. However, an untimely injury to Randy Orton in May 2022 ended his partnership with Matt Riddle prematurely.

The duo had their final match together on the May 20, 2022, episode of SmackDown, where they lost their RAW Tag Team Title to The Usos. By the time The Viper had recovered, The Original Bro had already departed WWE owing to off-screen controversies. In his recent appearance on The Delz Show, Riddlespoke about his current equation with Randy Orton.

The former United States Champion revealed that he still kept in touch with his RK-Bro tag team partner and hoped they could eventually reunite.

“Dude, we’re bros!” Riddle said. “I wished him a Happy Thanksgiving, and he wished me one back. Like that, I wished him one too, and he hit me back as well. Maybe one day we’ll do the same thing again.” [H/T – Ringside News]

Matt Riddle on Randy Orton feeling disrespected by him

A few weeks back, in a different interview, Matt Riddle recalled how Orton wasn’t pleased with him after one of their backstage interactions.

The former NXT Tag Team Champion revealed that his refusal to walk up to Randy Orton and greet him miffed the latter.

“Before we actually wrestled a full match, Randy wasn’t a huge fan of me. I guess he thought I was disrespectful because I had my headphones on. He came to the locker room, everybody was shaking everybody’s hand.I didn’t want to be like a nerd and go over. Didn’t wanna do that. So I gave him a nod. I was waiting for my chance to shake his hand, but I guess he took that as disrespect. I wasn’t [blowing him off].”

Though there’s no update on when The Viper will return to TV after Kevin Owens brutally attacked him earlier this month, fans are expecting him to come back with a vengeance on his mind whenever he’s cleared.
