  • 3 Reasons why Sheamus failed to win the Intercontinental Title at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames

Heading into WWE Survivor Series: WarGames, there were high expectations that Sheamus might become the new Intercontinental Champion. However, it has been over 1900 days since The Celtic Warrior held any championship in the Stamford-based promotion.

To the disappointment of many wrestling fans, he could not get the job done in a Triple Threat match against Bron Breakker and Ludwig Kaiser. At the end of the bell, it was Breakker who won the match and retained the Intercontinental Championship.

In this article, we will take a look at three reasons Sheamus failed to win the title at Survivor Series: WarGames:

#3. To build a rivalry between Sheamus and Ludwig Kaiser in WWE

    youtube-cover

For a long time now, Triple H has been teasing a rivalry between Sheamus and Ludwig Kaiser. While the duo has shared screen space on many occasions, a full-blown rivalry between the two hasn’t taken place yet. This could be the reason why the Irish superstar was not booked to win the IC Title.

If he would have won the championship at Survivor Series: WarGames, he would have to immediately offer Bron Breakker a rematch. Hence, the rivalry against Kaiser would have completely dried out. This could be a major reason why WWE did not book the veteran wrestler to win.

    #2. Long-term storytelling

    youtube-cover

As mentioned above, most people in the WWE Universe expected Sheamus to end his championship drought at Survivor Series: WarGames. However, that did not happen, and a major reason behind that could be long-term storytelling. Even though Shemaus lost, fans will now want him to win a title more than ever.

This is where the promotion can strike gold with the superstar and book him to win the title at a future event. For all you know, The Celtic Warrior could become IC Champion at Saturday Night’s Main Event or even on a future episode of Monday Night RAW.

#1. To not hamper Bron Breakker’s run as Intercontinental Champion

    youtube-cover

On Monday Night RAW, Bron Breakker’s first run as Intercontinental Champion was hampered by Jey Uso after 51 days since he beat Sami Zayn to win the title. While many were happy Jey won his first title in WWE, losing the belt so quickly majorly affected an upcoming star like Breakker.

Maybe WWE did not want to make this mistake again since it’s only been 41 days since Breakker won back his IC Title from Jey Uso. By booking Sheamus to win the title, the promotion would once again ruin the momentum Breakker has built as champion over the last few weeks.

  • Roman Reigns sends a six-word message minutes before Survivor Series: WarGames match

Roman Reigns is set to compete in the Men’s WarGames match at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames. The Original Tribal Chief took to Instagram to send a short message ahead of the same.

Reigns will team up with Sami Zayn, CM Punk, and The Usos at WWE’s ongoing premium live event to take on The Bloodline, which was recently joined by Bronson Reed. Punk was revealed as the fifth member of Roman’s team on SmackDown last week as Paul Heyman returned alongside The Best in the World. However, Punk and Reigns seem to have issues, with both men wary of each other’s actions.

Nonetheless, the two will compete on the same side at WWE Survivor Series as the OG Bloodline and CM Punk will take on Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline inside the WarGames structure.

The OTC took to Instagram to send a bold message just minutes before the match. Reigns talked about taking what belongs to them.

“Tonight we take back what’s ours,” Reigns posted.

Roman Reigns has been chasing the Ula Fala since returning at SummerSlam. However, the OTC could not overcome The Bloodline’s numbers game on his own. He recently reunited with his former stablemates to reform the OG Bloodline.

  • Major WWE Superstar to leave SmackDown permanently, heel turn after a year? – 4 Directions for LA Knight after losing United States title

At WWE Survivor Series: WarGames, LA Knight’s glorious run as United States Champion came to an end. This end to the Megastar’s run as champion was brought about by Shinsuke Nakamura, who finally won a title in WWE for the first time since August 2021.

While Nakamura will now begin his run as US Champion on SmackDown, it remains to be seen what Knight will do after a difficult loss like this one. Even though the defeat will sting him, there are many directions in which he can continue in his career.

In this article, we will look at four such directions LA Knight can go in after losing the United States Championship:

#4. LA Knight can win back his title at Saturday Night’s Main Event

Some of the greatest champions in WWE history have lost their championships, but what made them great is the fact that they were able to win the titles back. Similarly, on the upcoming episode of SmackDown, LA Knight can request Nick Aldis for a rematch against Shinsuke Nakamura.

This rematch in question could take place at Saturday Night’s Main Event, which will take place on December 14. At this event, Knight could look to win back the title from the Japanese wrestling legend. It will be interesting to see if something along these lines takes place at SNME.

#3. Leave SmackDown and move back to RAW on Netflix

    youtube-cover

Before LA Knight became one of the biggest names on SmackDown, it’s worth noting that he was a member of Monday Night RAW. After this loss at Survivor Series: WarGames, Knight could again look to move to the red brand and make a name for himself.

This potential move could also work in Knight’s favor because RAW will move to Netflix in January 2025. Hence, if Knight can join the Adam Pearce-led brand before that and make an impact, he will surely be in line for a World Championship shot at some point.

    #2. He could turn heel

    youtube-cover

In 2023, LA Knight experienced an unprecedented rise in popularity, and he quickly became one of the biggest faces on the WWE roster. However, being a babyface has not done much for Knight so far, and frustrated by the lack of success, the 42-year-old could now look to turn heel.

On SmackDown, Knight could embrace his dark side and cause chaos. Doing something along these lines would not only reinvent Knight, but if he is successful, he can also go up against some of the biggest babyfaces the company has to offer.

#1. Go after Cody Rhodes’ Undisputed WWE Championship

    youtube-cover

At Saturday Night’s Main Event, Cody Rhodes will defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens. However, once that match is over, in which Rhodes will most likely be victorious, he will need a new opponent, and LA Knight could step up to the challenge.

Especially if Knight turns heel, he could potentially go on to have a massive rivalry with The American Nightmare. And if The Megastar can impress in this rivalry, it would do wonders for him on SmackDown. Who knows, Knight might end up winning his first World Championship in WWE.

  • Legendary former WWE Champion possibly injured at Survivor Series; Michael Cole concerned after he was “busted open”

A former WWE champion appeared hurt during his Survivor Series bout. Even Michael Cole seemed concerned after he was busted open.

Sheamus has been one of the most decorated WWE stars in history. However, he has yet to win the Intercontinental Championship. Winning this title will finally make him a Grand Slam Champion.

On the November 11 episode of RAW, The Celtic Warrior had his chance when he faced current champion Bron Breakker. However, Ludwig Kaiser interfered in the contest and attacked both of them causing a DQ. This resulted in Adam Pearce announcing a Triple Threat match for the Intercontinental Championship at Survivor Series: WarGames.

Sheamus gave it his best to become champion and even came close when he hit Breakker with the Brogue kick. However, Ludwig pulled the referee out of the ring before he could count to three. The Celtic Warrior’s efforts were visible as he was busted open during the match and even looked hurt towards the end.

Even Michael Cole expressed concern over the former WWE Champion’s well-being. However, his fighting spirit wasn’t enough as Breakker was able to retain the title.

It will be interesting to see whether Sheamus will get another title shot after tonight’s loss.

  • Liv Morgan to kick WWE Superstar out of The Judgment Day after Survivor Series: WarGames? Exploring potential aftermath

Liv Morgan might soon kick out a WWE Superstar from The Judgment Day due to a massive setback. The name in question is none other than Morgan’s close ally, Raquel Rodriguez. Big Mami Cool might be excommunicated from the group as she failed to protect The Miracle Kid from being pinned by Rhea Ripley in the Women’s WarGames match at the 2024 Survivor Series Premium Live Event.

Rhea Ripley got the better of Morgan as she executed a Riptide from the top rope as a handcuffed Raquel Rodriguez watched helplessly. It was seemingly part of Ripley’s plan as she tied Rodriguez to one corner of the ring earlier in the match. Mami knew that the former NXT Women’s Champion would be a big hindrance during the contest.

When IYO SKY used a fire extinguisher inside the ring to prevent Tiffany Stratton from cashing in, Ripley used the moment to handcuff Rodriguez. Morgan was later cornered by Mami, leading to the pinfall.

Morgan might blame Rodriguez for the loss of her team. The Miracle Kid might then throw her stablemate out of The Judgment Day. This could turn Big Mami Cool into a babyface and lead to a feud between the long-time tag team partners.

Raquel was roped in as a bodyguard-esque figure by Liv Morgan after she helped the Women’s World Champion against Rhea Ripley at Bad Blood. The Miracle Kid and Rodriguez are two-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. However, this might be the end of their union, as Morgan might punish Rodriguez for failing in her duties at Survivor Series: WarGames.

Liv Morgan considers Raquel Rodriguez her most trusted partner in WWE

In a recent interview withBillboard, Liv Morgan detailed a unique quality of Raquel Rodriguez and how she brought out the best in her. The Miracle Kid minced no words in calling Rodriguez a “trustworthy” teammate.

“Raquel [Rodriguez] is the most trustworthy. Raquel has never stabbed me in the back. Raquel is stronger than me. Raquel is bigger than me. Raquel is more powerful than me. Raquel can offer things that I cannot and vice versa. I think she’s my greatest tag team partner of all time. We’ve had the most success as tag team partners. We are two-time Women’s Tag Team Champions. We’re gonna soon be the third and she’s such a star. I’m so happy that she has my back [laughs],” she said. [H/T – Billboard]

If Liv Morgan asks Rodriguez for an explanation, Big Mami Cool can defend herself by saying she did everything in her capacity even when she was handcuffed to help the Women’s World Champion’s team win. It remains to be seen how things turn out between Morgan and Rodriguez on the upcoming episode of RAW.

  • Michael Cole officially confirms WWE made history during Survivor Series: WarGames

WWE is hosting one of its biggest Premium Live Events, Survivor Series: WarGames, in Canada tonight. Michael Cole confirmed that the company made history during the show.

Survivor Series is the second longest-running PLE in WWE history behind WrestleMania. The show was first started in 1987. Since its inception, it has been known for its traditional Survivor Series match, which featured teams of five facing each other in an elimination-style tag team match.

However, in 2022, the show changed its format and replaced the traditional Survivor Series match with the WarGames match. Since then, there has been one WarGames match for the men and one for the women every year.

This year, Survivor Series took place at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada. Like previous years, the show was headlined by both the men’s and women’s WarGames matches. Although this is now one of the longest-running PLEs in WWE history, the company just made history.

During the show, Michael Cole announced that this was the largest local gate for any WWE arena show in Canada, with a total attendance of 17,828.

It will be interesting to see who wins the men’s WarGames match, which will take place in the main event.

  • 3 Reasons why Team Liv Morgan lost the Women’s WWE Survivor Series: WarGames match

The Women’s WarGames match at WWE Survivor Series 2024 has concluded with a thrilling victory for the babyface team. Rhea Ripley secured the win for her side, delivering a memorable finish to the highly anticipated showdown.

Following their triumph, all the heroic team members celebrated atop the WarGames structure, basking in their hard-fought victory.

On the other hand, the defeat of Team Liv Morgan has sparked questions, particularly since they had two Women’s Champions in their corner. In this article, we will explore three key reasons why Team Liv Morgan fell short in the Women’s WarGames match.

#3. WWE wants to give Rhea Ripley momentum against Liv Morgan

The match concluded when the Eradicator, Rhea Ripley, destroyed Liv Morgan and ultimately pinned her to secure the victory. This outcome seemingly highlights one potential reason for the loss, which is to build Ripley’s momentum against the Women’s World Champion.

The rivalry between Rhea and Liv has been ongoing in the Stamford-based promotion for the past few months. However, Mami suffered a loss in their previous match due to interference from Raquel Rodriguez.

This victory in the WarGames match appears to be WWE’s way of regaining Ripley’s momentum and positioning her as a predominant force against Morgan moving forward.

#2. The babyface team is much stronger than Team Liv Morgan

Team Liv Morgan may have had two Women’s Champions on their side, but the babyface team appeared significantly stronger on an individual power basis. The lineup included stars like Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, Naomi, Bayley, and IYO Sky, showcasing immense star power.

The collective strength and dominance of the babyface team could be another key reason behind Team Liv Morgan’s loss at WWE WarGames. The stars on Morgan’s team couldn’t match the sheer force and synergy of their opponents.

#1. To escalate tensions between the Judgment Day

Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez were both part of the Women’s WarGames match. The WWE Women’s World Champion was already unhappy with Rhea Ripley’s inclusion in the match against them and sought some protection on her side.

However, despite Raquel’s presence in the match, Morgan not only endured a brutal beatdown from Mami but also ended up being pinned. This outcome could potentially spark tensions within Team Liv Morgan, as Morgan may express her frustration with Raquel for failing to protect her during the match.

This brewing conflict between Morgan and Rodriguez might have been another reason behind Team Liv Morgan’s loss at WWE Survivor Series 2024.

  • BREAKING: 5′ 10″ star laid out  backstage on AEW TV; officials worried

A popular AEW star secretly got taken out backstage on TV after she quit on Dynamite last Wednesday. She was seen laid out on the most recent episode of Rampage.

The 5′ 10″ star in the discussion is Mercedes Mone’s former bodyguard, Kamille. The 32-year-old had a fallout with Mone on AEW Dynamite last Wednesday and she quit her job right before The CEO was about to fire the former as her bodyguard. The TBS Champion also got furious at how Kamille walked out on her on live television.

Meanwhile, during the recent episode of AEW Rampage, Kamille was shockingly laid out backstage with no signs of her attacker anywhere. She was checked on by an official who seemed worried and called for the medical team. The 32-year-old was already dealing with an injured arm and now she was attacked which added insult to her injury.

Interestingly, Kamille got attacked just days after she walked out on Mercedes Mone on Dynamite. While it is unclear who attacked The Brickhouse on Rampage backstage, the ties might be connected with The CEO somehow.

Mercedes also appeared backstage on Rampage and refused to say anything about Kamille before she got attacked. Only time will tell who will be revealed as the mystery attacker.

  • 3 Reasons why Damian Priest lost at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames

At Survivor Series: WarGames, Damian Priest had the chance to win back the World Heavyweight Championship he lost to Gunther at SummerSlam. While Damian also seemed to have the skills to beat The Ring General, he once again ended up short.

During his match, The Archer of Infamy had his moments, but interference from former brother-in-arms Finn Balor ensured Damian did not walk away from Survivor Series: WarGames as champion. This defeat will indeed be a major setback for the former Judgment Day member.

In this article, we will look at three possible reasons why Damian Priest lost to Gunther at Survivor Series: WarGames:

#3. To book Damian Priest vs. Finn Balor 2

    youtube-cover

At WWE Bad Blood, Damian Priest registered a win against Finn Balor. While Damian felt like he ended the rivalry with his former partner after the win, it’s clear the feud was not over from Balor’s side. Hence, he returned to be a thorn in Damian’s way of becoming the World Heavyweight Champion again.

The reason Finn interfered and cost Damian the title opportunity once again is that WWE probably wants to build towards another match between Damian and Balor at a future premium live event. Given that the first match between the two men went so well, one can only imagine how well another match between them would do.

#2. To not ruin Gunther’s dominance in WWE

    youtube-cover

Throughout his career in WWE, Gunther has been booked as a very dominant superstar. Whether it was the Intercontinental Championship run or the current run as World Heavyweight Champion, Gunther has never failed to look dominant. This, indeed, is a major plus for the Austrian.

However, recently, The Ring General and his dominance both came under massive doubt when he failed to beat Cody Rhodes at WWE Crown Jewel 2024. Hence, if WWE had to book Damian Priest to beat Gunther, it would be two consecutive losses at major PLEs for the World Heavyweight Champion, and this would have ruined his dominance.

#1. Massive Triple Threat match for the World Heavyweight Championship

When Finn Balor originally cost Damian Priest the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE SummerSlam, Gunther did not take any action. However, this time, when Balor interfered and attempted to cost Damian, Gunther, for some reason, landed a big blow on The Judgment Day member.

This blow landed by Gunther could indicate a potential Triple Threat match between them at a PLE in the future. After being hit like that, it’s unlikely Balor will leave Gunther. Therefore, this potential Triple Threat match is where Damian could be booked to become World Heavyweight Champion again.

  • Rhea Ripley pulls off shock twist at WWE Survivor Series; major injury update

WWE Survivor Series is expected to have many surprises and several storyline advancements. However, a particular move from Rhea Ripley seemed to provide an update regarding her injury.

The Eradicator had reportedly suffered an orbital injury after a headbutt spot. This led to her being written off TV soon after, and she was forced to miss Crown Jewel PLE. When she returned to action in mid-November, she was seen sporting a protective face mask, indicating that her injury had yet to undergo full recovery.

During the WarGames match at Survivor Series, however, Ripley removed her heavily designed face mask when facing Liv Morgan. This, apart from looking exceptionally intimidating, also seemingly indicated that Ripley had recovered from her injury and was cleared to wrestle without the protective gear.

The Eradicator certainly seemed to be back to her full strength as she battled fiercely inside the cage. Her rivalry with Liv Morgan led to some exceptionally intense spots. While the WWE match itself was a series of back-and-forths, Ripley was able to sneak in an opportunity to take down Liv and pin her, earning the win for her team.

As of now, it remains to be seen what the former Judgment Day member plans to do next in WWE.
