  • WWE Signs “New John Cena”

WWE announced a new signing through the WWE ID program, an initiative that partners with wrestling schools and independent talents to create a pathway to NXT and the Performance Center.

Bryce Donovan, who has been wrestling since 2016 in Create A Pro, was one of the first names announced on November 7th. Brian Myers, currently with TNA Wrestling, shared his thoughts on the signing on his social media.

“He’s the John Cena of Create A Pro. It was about time and totally deserved,” wrote Myers.

In addition to Donovan, WWE has also signed Zayda Steel from CZW and “Cold Brew” Cappuccino Jones from This Is Wrestling through the program.

  • 5 things that will happen if Sami Zayn reunites with Roman Reigns

Sami Zayn is set to appear on SmackDown tonight to address the ongoing situation with The Bloodline. After the chaos at Crown Jewel, where he accidentally struck Roman Reigns with a Helluva Kick, an electrifying face-off is expected tonight on the show. This could eventually lead to a full-fledged reunion of the OG Bloodline with Zayn in the mix.

However, the former Intercontinental Champion reuniting with Reigns and The Usos can also lead to massive repercussions, which have the potential to send shockwaves across the roster. His arrival in the Bloodline saga could have a domino effect on several other things, whether it be the return of a WWE legend or a massive feud with a former champion.

Let’s discuss five things that will happen if Sami Zayn reunites with Roman Reigns:

#5. Kevin Owens would be pissed off

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn fought side by side to dismantle The Bloodline last year amid a massive rivalry with the faction. The two best friends went on to headline Night One of WrestleMania 39 to dethrone The Usos and win the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship with the hope of never returning to The Bloodline saga.

However, Zayn injecting himself into the same mess and his reunion with Roman Reigns would make The Prizefighter furious. Cody Rhodes aligning with The OTC at Bad Blood already enraged Owens and his best friend doing the same is certain to make his blood boil. As a result, KO might turn his back on Sami Zayn, unleashing a ruthless attack on the latter.

Kevin Owens could confront the former Intercontinental Champion tonight on SmackDown following the segment involving The Bloodline and might declare the end of their friendship. Also, there are chances thatNick Aldis could ban him from the show tonight to avoid a catastrophe.

#4. Sami Zayn might get drafted to SmackDown

Sami Zayn has been a Monday Night RAW star for over a year. However, his return to the Bloodline saga could signal the end of his tenure on the red brand for a while. With Roman Reigns and The Usos being on SmackDown, WWE might also move the Canadian star to Friday nights to keep the OG Bloodline on the same show.

WWE could have a potential trade between Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis in regard to this move. Both General Managers could negotiate a deal to swap one star from SmackDown to RAW. Considering the current landscape of WWE, a trade of this magnitude could be a huge shift for both brands.

Moreover, this angle will not only maintain the integrity of the WWE Draft but also be beneficial for a wide pool of superstars who are seeking a new direction in WWE.

#3. Bloodline WarGames Match could be made official for Survivor Series

Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa have been on a collision course for months. There have been rumors that this family drama could eventually lead to a Men’s WarGames Match at this year’s Survivor Series. The OG Bloodline is currently short of a member who was apparently holding back WWE from making this match official.

However, Sami Zayn’s potential reunion with The OTC and The Usos tonight will complete the much-anticipated resurgence of the OG Bloodline. Therefore, The Honorary Uce’s involvement could lead to WWE making the Bloodline WarGames match official for the Survivor Series PLE. Both factions can embark on a full-fledged war from here on.

Moreover, with the arrival of Zayn, Roman Reigns can fight Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline on equal terms from here on, unraveling a new chapter within the ongoing family drama.

#2. Future showdown with Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens will likely be furious with Sami Zayn once he reunites with Roman Reigns and the OG Bloodline, as discussed above. One of the biggest things Sami’s reunion could lead to is a future showdown with The Prizefighter. Both superstars are likely to cross paths down the line, leading to another feud between the two best friends.

Zayn and Owens have clashed numerous times in the past. However, a new chapter in their rivalry could unfold, which has the potential to deliver some jaw-dropping moments under the Triple H-led regime. In fact, WWE may even book a singles match between the two superstars for WrestleMania 41 next year, given the rich history between them.

Furthermore, Sami Zayn could be a heroic babyface while Kevin Owens could be the wicked heel, similar to their early main roster dynamics in WWE. This setup could provide a fitting closure to their longstanding rivalry.

#1. Paul Heyman’s return might become imminent

Paul Heyman has been away from WWE television since June this year, after suffering a vicious attack at the hands of Solo Sikoa and his faction. However, Sami Zayn’s inclusion in the Bloodline saga will seemingly lead to the veteran’s return. It is because Heyman will be the last missing piece to complete the OG Bloodline even after Zayn’s return.

The 59-year-old was the key figure that drove Roman Reigns’ faction toward its success. Therefore, he is likely to make his way back to WWE to join the stable once again, as the company might not keep him off television for long. With Paul Heyman back in the fray, the OG Bloodline could once again dominate the landscape.

Besides, there have been instances when Roman Reigns was seen feeling the absence of his Wiseman, making it evident that Heyman’s return is imminent. Sami Zayn’s homecoming could be the catalyst for the Hall of Famer’s highly anticipated comeback.

  • Tama Tonga sends a message after Roman Reigns gets pinned at WWE Crown Jewel; reflects on a viral moment

Tama Tonga sent a one-word message on social media after The Bloodline’s victory over Roman Reigns and The Usos at WWE Crown Jewel. Solo Sikoa pinned The OTC to secure the victory for his faction.

Tama and Tonga Loa lost the WWE Tag Team Championships to The Motor City Machine Guns in the lead-up to Crown Jewel. During the match’s closing moments, Reigns and The Usos cost The Bloodline the gold.

On social media, WWE posted a video of Tonga making his signature bizarre noises. Reacting to the video, the former Tag Team Champion sent a one-word message.

    “shhhhhhhhhhh,” wrote Tonga.

Sam Roberts speculated on the idea of Sami Zayn possibly betraying the OG Bloodline at WWE Survivor Series

Sam Roberts discussed the possibility of Sami Zayn betraying the OG Bloodline at the Survivor Series during a potential WarGames match.

Speaking on the NotSam Wrestling podcast, he suggested that Zayn turning heel would be a fun idea but doesn’t feel the former Honorary Uce would betray Roman Reigns and The Usos. He said:

“It’s just fun that we can speculate about that. The idea that there was a moment where we could picture Sami Zayn being a villain, to me, was so fun. So, yeah, I don’t think he’s gonna turn on the OG Bloodline. I think we’re gonna get the moment that we want, but the idea that it’s possible and that we’re giving the characters involved enough motivation to be suspicious, I think is a great TV, compelling TV.”

Reigns and Zayn are set to come face-to-face on tomorrow’s edition of SmackDown. On Monday Night RAW, Jey Uso invited Zayn to SmackDown despite the latter accidentally hitting The OTC with a Helluva Kick at Crown Jewel.

It remains to be seen if The Bloodline has any tricks up their sleeves for this week’s show.

  • WWE might be forced to turn 36-year-old star babyface for the first time, says Tommy Dreamer

Former WWE Superstar Tommy Dreamer recently stated that the Stamford-based company might be forced to turn one of RAW’s top heels into a babyface for the first time. Dreamer cautioned Triple H and the creative team to book Bronson Reed as a monster heel or the crowd will just start cheering for him.

Reed made his main roster debut in December 2022 when he helped The Miz beat Dexter Lumis in an episode of RAW. He has been working as a bad guy since then and has not been a face since his time in the developmental brand. He was one of NXT’s top babyfaces from 2019 to 2021 before getting released and working in the independent circuit.

Speaking on a recent episode of Busted Open Radio, Tommy Dreamer claimed that WWE is taking a big risk with Bronson Reed’s current booking. Dreamer suggested making him look like a monster heel while warning the company to be careful since he might get cheered.

“They have to position him as the heel all times because if not, he’s gonna turn babyface and where does that fit him?” Dreamer said. [H/T Wrestling, Inc]

Bronson Reed recently faced Seth Rollins at WWE Crown Jewel in a losing effort. But despite the defeat, Reed looked strong and even got back up quickly after Rollins pinned him following a Curb Stomp from the top rope.

Bronson Reed names top WWE Superstar as one of the hardest hitters he has faced

“Big” Bronson Reed is considered one of the strongest superstars on the WWE roster today. Reed was recently asked by Fightful who was the hardest-hitting star he has ever faced.

“I mean, I’ve had some hard hits. I’ll give you two. One is obviously Gunther. His chops are the hardest chops I’ve ever taken. I remember distinctively the first time wrestling him in Germany, and we were in a tiny little warehouse. It was like their dojo where they trained, and I remember getting chopped, and just how loud it was shocked me more than the actual feeling of the chop. … That, and I’ll have to say KENTA (Hideo Itami). He used to kick very hard back in the Japanese. … When I first wrestled in Pro Wrestling NOAH. Every time he kicked me, he gave me a Go To Sleep that sent me for a loop. I’d say Gunther or KENTA are the hardest hitters, and they’ve hit me pretty hard,” Reed said. [H/T: Fightful]

    Check out the video below:

Bronson Reed once challenged Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship on the October 16th episode of RAW last year. He faced KENTA, formerly known as Hideo Itami in WWE, early in his career in Pro Wrestling Noah, way before they got signed to NXT.

  • Bo Dallas reveals inspiration behind The Wyatt Sicks

Bo Dallas has revealed one of his inspirations behind the creation of The Wyatt Sicks. While the group was the brainchild of the late great Bray Wyatt, his real-life brother had some input behind it and was influenced by Stephen King.

King is considered ‘The King of Horror’ for writing some of the scariest books in history, such as ‘Carrie’, ‘The Shining’, ‘The Green Mile’, ‘The Shawshank Redemption’, ‘The Mist’, and ‘It’. His books have been turned into successful films and television shows over the years.

Speaking to Chris McPherson of Collider, Bo Dallas was asked about the influences of his and Bray Wyatt’s creativity. Dallas named King’s ‘The Stand’ as one of the biggest inspirations for The Wyatt Sicks. It was published in 1978 and was adapted into a television show in 1994 and 2020.

“Growing up, me and Windham were obsessed with horror movies…One of our biggest influences was the ’90s version of ‘The Stand’ by Stephen King. We both loved that, and it’s funny because when we were coming up with ideas for characters, we both independently decided to draw inspiration from Randall Flagg without even realizing the other was doing it,” Dallas said.

‘The Stand’ was about a flu that nearly wiped out humanity, while Randall Flagg was the book’s main antagonist. Flagg had supernatural powers and wanted to bring down the world using conflict and total destruction.

WWE initially refused Bo Dallas and Bray Wyatt to work together

In an interview with Shak Wrestling last week, Bo Dallas revealed that he has always wanted to work with his brother. They had the opportunity to do it when WWE brought them back, but the company initially didn’t want them together.

“If we were coming back, we were gonna come back as a team. So initially that was the idea, and then we started talking to the company, and some things happened, and we kind of signed around the same time, but we kind of got word that maybe they didn’t want us to be together,” Dallas said. [From 6:04 – 6:20]

Bo Dallas and Bray Wyatt were able to convince WWE’s top brass to put them together, leading to the debut of the Uncle Howdy character. They were able to work briefly before Wyatt was sidelined with health issues in early 2023. He passed away in August of that same year.

  • WWE SmackDown star sends a two-word message while on a “date” with Bianca Belair; it’s not Montez Ford

WWE Superstar Bianca Belair has had a busy week, playing a big part in the company’s recent visit to Saudi Arabia. She wrestled multiple times, at Crown Jewel and on the episode of RAW one day later.

However, since returning to the United States, life has seemingly been more relaxing for the former RAW Women’s Champion. This comes amid rampant speculation over her husband Montez Ford’s future, following talk of him being frustrated.

Fellow SmackDown star Michin took to Instagram to reveal that she and Bianca Belair went on a “girl date” last night. The former O.C. member posted a selfie of the two of them enjoying a night out on her Instagram story. Belair reposted it as well.

    Check it out below:

Bianca Belair and Michin are likely set to be on tonight’s episode of SmackDown. It remains to be seen what they will do, with The EST of WWE most probably appearing alongside her tag team partner, Jade Cargill.

What is Bianca Belair’s relationship with Jade Cargill?

Belair and Cargill are going strong as the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. They have shown a united front on RAW and SmackDown, especially after retaining their titles in a fatal four-way match at Crown Jewel.

However, it might be a different story behind the scenes. Speaking on The Coach and Bro Show on Backstage Pass, former WWE star Jonathan Coachman revealed that “reliable sources” have told him that Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill do not get along in real life:

“I’ve also heard that her (Jade Cargill) and Bianca Belair do not get along at all. It’s from reliable sources. They don’t get along.” He continued, “Now you got two spectacular-looking women in Bianca and Jade. You can’t look any better than they do. But Bianca’s already been in the main event. So you’re asking her to give somebody the rub. Of course, she’s gonna be pissed off. She makes her own gear, and Jade doesn’t make her own gear. Do you see how that could lead to something?”

Whether or not that is true, it remains to be seen how WWE books the two. A potential break-up and feud is always likely, especially if there are plans for Cargill to eventually become a singles star. Belair will seemingly return to the main event scene once it is over if she doesn’t dethrone Liv Morgan for the Women’s World Championship herself.

  • 3 WWE Superstars set to retire in 2025

As a company that has been around for over 70 years, WWE and its fans have seen some of the greatest performers in the business hone their craft, become top names, and then hang up their boots and retire.

Whilst fans would love to see their favorite wrestlers compete in the ring forever, Father Time eventually catches up with even the most athletically gifted of superstars.

With a new year on the horizon, let’s take a look at three WWE Superstars who are seemingly set to retire from the ring in 2025.

#3. A 28-year career comes to an end

Meiko Satomura is a name that many WWE fans have only become acquainted with in the past couple of years. But she is an almost 30-year veteran.

The Japanese star is one of the few active performers in World Wrestling Entertainment today who competed in WCW in the late 1990s. This truly showcases her longevity.

In recent years she has been seen performing in NXT where she has taken on some of the brightest young stars that the company has to offer.

One of NXT’s biggest names is the current Women’s Champion Roxxane Perez, who has shared the ring with Satomura on a number of occasions. During a recent interview with Stephanie Chase, Perez spoke about how it felt to share a ring with the veteran.

“Meiko Satomura was my dream opponent probably since I was 16 years old, so coming to WWE and right away getting two matches against her within a few months of me being there was just insane. I really think that she is, if not the best, one of the best women’s wrestlers – not women’s wrestlers – one of the best wrestlers in the entire world. I am sad to see that she is going to be retiring next year.”

Earlier this week, Satomura officially announced that her last ever match will be taking place on April 29th next year, and she set to compete for her Sendai Girls promotion at an event named ‘Satomura The Final’.

#2. One final spear for a WWE Hall of Famer

Like Satomura, another star who has also competed in both WCW and WWE is set to retire in 2025. That name in question is the Hall of Famer, Goldberg.

The former Universal Champion was recently seen at the Bad Blood Premium Live Event in his hometown of Atlanta, and after he was called out by the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther, people started to wonder if the legend would be making his return to the ring.

Fans recently got their answer as Goldberg revealed on the SEC Network that he will be competing one last time in 2025.

“The news of the day is, per three executives, Nick Khan, Chris Legentil, and Paul Levesque, in 2025, Goldberg’s having his retirement match. I think we know who the victim, probably the frontrunner right now, we know who it is. But 2025, Goldberg makes his return, retirement match. I got a couple months to get ready. No date, no time, so we’ll see.”

Having not wrestled since 2022, Goldberg seems determined to end his career on his terms, and whilst the date or opponent has not yet been announced you can bet that he will want to go out looking as strong as he did when he debuted in 1997.

    #1. The GOAT says farewell

In what was one of the most shocking moments of 2024, John Cena announced at the Money In The Bank Premium Live Event in July that 2025 will be his last year in pro wrestling.

However, unlike Satomura and Goldberg, the 16-time World Champion is determined to have one last great year in WWE, with him announcing that he will be on a farewell tour of sorts in 2025, offering the chance for fans all over the world to see him compete one last time.

One person who knows Cena all too well is his former rival and current WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H. The Game spoke about Cena’s retirement plans with Sportskeedas Senior Editor Bill Apter at the Summer Slam post-show press conference.

“John has earned the right in his career to do whatever he wants, when he wants and I’m happy to be there for him. I believe it is the beginning of the year, John will come back. And it’s sort of like the farewell tour that has an end to it, and john is going to come back and just have a blast like he always does.”

With Cena set to compete in a multitude of matches in 2025, the chance for many dream matches is endless. Whether he faces off against old foes like CM Punk and Randy Orton or battles new stars like Bron Breakker and Carmelo Hayes, the possibilities for Cena’s retirement tour are excitingly endless.

  • X-Pac heartbroken after WWE veteran Scorpio Jr. passes away

WWE Hall of Famer X-Pac recently took to social media to send a heartbreaking message after wrestling legend Scorpio Jr.’s demise. The Mexican luchador passed away at the age of 58.

Scorpio Jr. started his professional wrestling career in 1984. His most notable stint came in Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre, where he wrestled from 1990 to 2004 and won the CMLL World Tag Team Championship twice. However, the star also wrestled a few matches in WWE (then WWF) in 1999 under the ring name El Bandido.

WWE legend X-Pac recently took to X (fka Twitter) to send an emotional message after Mexican legend Scorpio Jr. passed away at only 58 years of age. The Hall of Famer wrote that he was heartbroken by the devastating news. X-Pac also revealed that he shared the ring and locker room with the former El Bandido in Japan and Mexico.

“I’m sad to learn of Scorpio Jr.’s passing. We shared a ring & locker room together in Japan & Mexico over the years, since 1992. Una verdadera leyenda y bueno gente,” he wrote.

    Check out his tweet below:

WWE legend X-Pac was full of praise for Damian Priest

Last year, after Damian Priest won the Money in the Bank briefcase, X-Pac talked about The Archer of Infamy during an interview with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp. The Hall of Famer said that he was a big supporter of Priest and believed the latter would look good in a nWo or a D-Generation X t-shirt.

“I’m a big supporter of Damian Priest. He’s been one of my draft picks, as Scott Hall used to say, since before he even got into the WWE. Especially after he got signed by them and started really putting in all the work. He’s got that Money in the Bank briefcase now. Anyways, he’d look sweet in nWo shirt on or DX.”

Scorpio Jr. has left a lasting impact on the world of professional wrestling, and the luchador’s name will forever be written in history books.

We at Sportskeeda send our condolences to Scorpio Jr.’s loved ones during this extremely difficult time.

  • Finn Balor to turn babyface; reunite with his ex-girlfriend against Liv Morgan & Dominik? Exploring the possibility

Finn Balor could soon turn babyface after being kicked out of The Judgment Day. The group includes Liv Morgan, Dominik Mysterio, Balor, JD McDonagh, Raquel Rodriguez, and Carlito. However, Morgan and Dom Dom always seem to be in the spotlight, leaving one-half of the tag team champions in the shadows.

The 43-year-old might be on the chopping block soon, making him think about teaming up with his former girlfriend, Becky Lynch, to take on the wicked duo of Dominik and Liv. The last time we saw Lynch in the ring was in May when she faced Liv Morgan in a Steel Cage Match. Right now, she’s a free agent and hasn’t made her return to WWE yet.

Their love story started back when Finn Balor was training The Man in Ireland in her early days in wrestling, but things cooled off when he moved to the U.S., as the distance made it tough to keep the spark alive. The duo could reunite to take on The Judgment Day couple after Balor gets booted from the group.

Recently, Dirty Dom was given the edge over Finn Balor to get a chance to fight the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. The 27-year-old faced Damian Priest to get a shot at The Ring General, and ended up winning. The Prince wasn’t happy about it; he looked pretty upset that Dom got the chance instead of him.

This shows the tension that’s been brewing in the group. Finn Balor feels a bit overlooked since Dom is much less experienced and is getting a title shot at Gunther before him. Dirty Dom and The Miracle Kid are likely picking up on the former Universal Champion’s discontent, which could lead to some tension in the group. If they feel like Finn is becoming a liability or that he’s just not pulling his weight in the group, they might see an opportunity to kick him out before he becomes a bigger threat.

Balor has been outspoken about wanting to reclaim his spot at the top, particularly with unfinished business with Priest and his pursuit of the World Heavyweight Championship. If he feels that The Judgment Day is prioritizing Dom over his own ambitions, it could lead to resentment, a potential split, and a reunion with his former girlfriend.

The idea of a reunion sounds great, but right now, it’s just speculation. We still don’t know if it will happen since Lynch’s return is still up in the air. The Stamford-based promotion is optimistic that she’ll come back, but ultimately it’s all in her hands.

Finn Balor aligning with Becky makes perfect sense if she returns.

If Becky Lynch returns, she could start a feud with the Women’s World Champion. The Man and Morgan have had a few run-ins in the past, especially when Liv was challenging Becky for the title earlier this year. However, they never really got the chance to fully resolve their issues.

If Finn Balor is indeed kicked out, he could team up with the 37-year-old against The Judgment Day members. It would be a perfect narrative of redemption and revenge for both of them—Finn wanting to reclaim his spotlight and Becky seeking to take down Liv to reclaim her spot as a top contender. They’d be a force to be reckoned with, and their battle against Dom and Liv could represent the beginning of The Judgment Day’s undoing.
