WWE issued an injury update on Jade Cargill following a mysterious backstage attack on SmackDown. Cargill was discovered unconscious on a car hood in the parking lot area, having sustained multiple serious injuries.
According to WWE’s medical report, Cargill suffered deep lumbar paraspinal muscle contusions, a bruised kidney, and significant knee damage including a sprained MCL and tibial plateau bone bruise in her right knee. She also sustained facial lacerations from the assault.
The incident occurred while her tag team partner Bianca Belair was in the ring. Several WWE superstars, including Liv Morgan, Nia Jax, Raquel Rodriguez, and Tiffany Stratton, were reportedly in the backstage area at the time of the attack. The identity of the assailant remains unknown.
Cargill’s absence creates uncertainty around the Women’s Tag Team Championship. WWE may either strip her of the title or require Belair to find a new partner to defend the championships. The company has already removed Cargill from the Women’s United States Championship qualifying tournament on SmackDown and the upcoming WarGames match at Survivor Series.

During the taped November 29 episode of SmackDown, Bayley was revealed as Cargill’s replacement in the Women’s WarGames match. The Role Model joins forces with Rhea Ripley, IYO SKY, Naomi, and Bianca Belair for the high-stakes encounter.
However, this last-minute substitution has sparked speculation about potential ulterior motives. Some observers draw parallels to Dakota Kai’s memorable betrayal at NXT TakeOver: WarGames 2019, where she attacked Michin backstage before turning on her own team.
Wrestling analysts suggest Bayley could reveal herself as Cargill’s attacker during her WarGames entrance, potentially orchestrating an assault on her teammates.
